You'll get along fine with it. Dr. Jay will be begging for mercy.I'm sure going to be dissapointed if I don't!
It a 14 twist, so I'm using Randy Robinetts 790 short jacket 65 grain bullets. I think I might have to run the hotter 29 grain load to keep Dr. Jay in check, but if he spanks me,, well I been spanked before! This little action is keeping me turning to the lighter loads. You'll get along fine with it. Dr. Jay will be begging for mercy.
And a question for ya, are those 12tw? 14tw? WD
Hope I can do that 5 times Sunday Murray, NICE SHOOTING!Couple of groups that I shot this AM with my Sako. These rifles ( stone stock) really shoot.
how much was the Pic rail from Recnagel? That came from scope list. I think Tyler was who I talked with. But ya, it only took me 2 days find one, and then only because I called and asked for help. I couldn't find them for the sake but really wasn't sure what all I needed. Never having a Sako before, they are unique. Kinda reminded me like when I first bough a Beeman R1 50 years ago.View attachment 1478273
It is the bases and adjustable rail for them. All I needed was the Burris Signature rings.
Thank you. All the best on SundayHope I can do that 5 times Sunday Murray, NICE SHOOTING!
You'll have to check with scopelist?how much was the Pic rail from Recnagel?
That rail is a very clever and well-made solution to the problem. I just got 2 of them, work beautifully. About $90.You'll have to check with scopelist?
I agree, there are cheaper ways to scope these Rifles, but hard to beat this setup! That rail is a very clever and well-made solution to the problem. I just got 2 of them, work beautifully. About $90.
Your range wood tool box is very nice. You mean like this? I've been loading at the range for over 30 years, and wow,, how it has changed!

The old Kennedy utility box is converted for safe padded transport of my chargemaster lite. The Gerstner machinists chest has about everything and anything I could need to form, turn, trim, load, measure, and tune ammo, for 6br, 222, 6x47L, and 2 sets of 6ppc dies. FL, neck, seat, even body dues to fireform.
This is not only my home loading room setup, but how I travel, and Taylor loads at the range. It really make quick work of fine tuning loads. Like these 65 grain for the Sako, 28.8 has proven repeatable out of once fired brass. That is after fixing my front rest. Getting old is sometimes embarrassing.

28.8 grns of N133 with Remington 7.5 srp.seated .005" into the lands.
FINALLY! I picked the rifle up last evening. I had the gentleman in Idaho wait till after the holiday to ship it, then it took 4 working days arriving Monday, but my dealer is closed on Mondays, so delivery was late yesterday afternoon.
I was very anxious waiting 2 weeks after paying for it, but was pleasantly surprised when we uncovered it from the factory box.
The wood is nicer and darker than the pictures he had. Then this morning, undressing it, bore scoping the six groove hammer forged barrel, it only got better after running some wet patches thru the barrel. Truly still in the cosmanine protectant from the factory. Then an absolutely gorgeous bore appeared.
Then after wiping down all the metal and lightly rehydrating the stock lightly cleaning it with some boild linseed oil, and dry rubbing it down. I am happy to say this is way better than my expectation!
So attaching the new bases and Pickatiney rail, I set the Burris signature rings up to accept the new 8-32X56 Sightron with an 1/8moa dot for my target needs. I decided it was time for some picks from archery targets.

Then in the man cave to do some chamber analysis. Things stil getting better, no problem reaching the rifling with the 64 grain Bib 790 jacket bullets I plan on shooting in it! So plan B will no problem as the 68 grain fb Denoffs with an even longer base to ogive will definitely work.
So now i have some 6ppc USA Norma brass loaded with 28.5, 28.7, and 28.9 grn of N-133 and getting ready to put some shots down range to bust its cherry, my first ever 35 year old Virgin! If that goes well and everything looks mild I'll work from there and take it to 29.2, a sweet spot for many of my 6ppc'
