Forming 20ppc brass...can you do this??????

Could you take 22ppc brass and just neck it down to 20ppc???????


Would it be the same thing as necking down and fire forming 220 russian brass???????

There is lots of talk about the 220 russian brass, but not much on necking down the 22ppc and just shooting....

What is the diffrence in quality from the Norma 22ppc brass to the lapua 220 russian??????

PS....this is a varmint rig.

The reason you don't see much on this topic is because, as SDH mentioned it's no big deal, size it and shoot it. Lapua is generaly regarded as a stronger case and the 220 Russian is readily available compared to 'any' 22ppc brass. Pay attention to neck size based on your chamber.

Had to thin the necks to get 220 Russian brass to fit the 22PPC.....Had to thin 22PPC brass a little more to get it to fit the 20PPC.
Tryed just necking the 22PPC brass to 20cal but had to turn the 22PPC brass first as I dont have a 20 cal pilot.

The only reason i am beating this idea to death is cause i have some 22ppc brass that was given to me, otherwise i`d be buying 220 russian like everyone else..

The rifle has a .237 neck, so i`m hoping i won`t have to neck turn no matter what brass i am using...time will tell...

If you have a 237 nk I doubt you will have to turn necks regardless of what you use. Mine is a 231nk built by Kevin Weaver and that chamber was designed around using factory 220 Russian with no neck turning. My loaded rounds measure right at 228-229. If anything your chamber might be on the generous side.
