with rodent shooting season approaching rapidly, i checked my stock of brass. i have 300 winchester brass that are now on load number 3 possibly 4. from what others have said, their brass starts to loosen primer pockets around use #4.
so, i found a guy on this forum with some new 22 hornet brass, remington. while not my first choice, i was glad to get it. but, much to my dismay, i was reading my berger manual and it says that forming loss with remington brass is very high. but, how long ago was the author using remington brass? has the brass changed since then? what if i anneal it prior to any forming?
the brass i picked up is in sealed bags of 100. i thought about forming 20 to see what my results are. if bad, resell the brass, if good, form it all.
thoughts?
