22 BR from Remington brass??

I read the info on the 22 BR and noticed that some folks were making 22 BR from Remington brass. Lapua and Norma seem to be the brass to use and was wondering if anybody used Remington brass to make their 22 BR cases? If so, does the shorter neck on the Remington brass bring up any problems?
Anybody been there, done that? Thanks, Mike.

HI Mike...im not shure what thread I blathered on abut the 22 BR on ..but I have shot em for 30 yrs...bak in the day the chambers were cut with a compatable reamer...,,the Norma version wasnt invented till the late 80's~~"I think??!!??") that worked well...with a modern Norma size chamber the case web will swell when a Rem case is used....this will eventually loosen the primer pockets...and as you pointed out if using the old-old Rem brass,,most of which was 7mmBR-vs. the truely old ones that were .308 basic and usually stamped 22BR or Rem BR or which if you make them today you can trim to any length you want..because when they are formed the neck is prolly 3/4 of an inch long!!)),they will be aprox. .o40" short...which will give lots-0-freebore....however some of the "newer" Rem ctg brass that is actually stamped 6mmRem BR are 1.560"!!!!!! which will work much better. .....I would worry about case head/primer poket problems more than case trim length....Roger

Roger: I was looking at the "Cartridge Info Page" and saw the remark about using Remington brass to make the 22 BR and thought I'de ask if anyone had done that. I'll stick to my "Lapua" brass thank you! ;) Why mess with a good thing. :D
