First Suppressors!!

Congrats man, they are pretty cool. I picked up a Banish 30 for my Model 70 300WM. Throwing 215 Bergers, she just had a little too much boom. That suppressor turned it into a pretty comfortable rifle to shoot.

Did you register them in a Trust
This is something that I have been wondering about. An individual buys a suppressor and dies. The wife has no use for it. What does the estate do with it? Can (no pun intended) the estate sell it? Enquiring minds want to know.

Tolerance stacking is the main reason. A lot of guys have alignment issues and when they send the can back to SiCo they tell them it’s the mount causing the issue. Direct thread is always best. If you use an ASR brake or QD mount you MUST verify with an alignment rod. I See a lot of guys posting online that their accuracy went to crap when using the suppressor and when they take the asr mount off, and direct thread it to the barrel, the accuracy comes back.
I've got about 18 rifles and 3 cans using Griffin's taper mount system...zero issues. Two friends similarly set up. Again, no issues. If your threads are straight and will work for direct thread they will work with the Griffin system.

But I agree, the ASR system has a long history of complaints for baffle strikes and coming loose.

Nubie here but well studied. I pick up my first suppressor this weekend. I chose the Keymo system on a Dead Air Primal. My next suppressor (Omega 9K) will have the Xeno mounting system. I want the ability to remove the suppressor for transporting and use on other systems. I looked into Tri Lug and ASR and if i understand correctly Tri Lug was the first and ASR tried to fix Tri Lugs Problems. Please educate me if I am wrong. Thanks.

I very seldom shoot any of my CF rifles unsuppressed anymore. I did try a SureFire SOCOM 7.62 on a Aero Precision M5 in 6.5 CM that I'd built around a 24" Krieger bbl. Got so disgusted with how dirty the fired brass was, and how cruddy the back pressure left the upper receiver, and got much the same results when I tried a little TBAC Ultra 5 on another M5 in 6XC. So bought an OSS Helix flow-type can for a 223 AR15 SPR that I carry in the truck, and was pretty pleased with the improvement in both cleaner brass & rifle. This was an older, discontinued model made well before the newer HUXWORX FLOW & Ventum models. All but one of my cans are in a trust, and I just mailed a check to the SOT who's doing the transfer for another flow-type suppressor for the M5 6XC, so we'll see how long it takes to get the form 4 back for a trust....

ETA - Got a text yesterday from the SOT who's doing the transfer for the above mentioned can - the approval came back yesterday, 12/10. I mailed the check to him on 11/27 - figured that with Thanksgiving, he probably didn't get the check so he could submit the e-form until Monday, 12/2, so it took 8 days, and this was a trust.

Use my Miller "cast bullet" benchrest rifle..suppressed . Quiet shooting on the property! Have a 25-20 built up also....I do use it on my 284 mtn rifle when hunting. I just cant stand muzzle brakes ! Been using suppressors for over 10 years....
