Cleaning sealed suppressors.

Cleaning a couple of sealed suppressors today using Suppressor Sauce by HuxMrx. Finished the first phase by getting the carbon out and now soaking in solution to remove heavy metals. Wow, this is the way to go. Could not believe the crud that came out of one of my 22 rf suppressors. They say, the things should work better with fouling removed. Snowing today so projects are on the line. Rimfire is in my usual pvc soak tube with carbon remove sauce. Centerfire suppressor is in final heavy metal removal solution. Whatta Hobby!

I was very impressed with the Ballistol suppressor cleaner. Amazing the crud that comes out! After several hours- the stuff that was left inside was easily wiped out. A pressure washer or large soft bristled brush would be the easy button, after the crud gets soft.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner with CLR but it's hard on the finish. I eventually sand blast the finish off anyhow.

Following,
Got my first suppressor back in September. Having a blast with it putting a lot of 45 acp through it. Looking for my next one. :)

Nice. Do nof have a sealed can yet but am going to own one soon. I was considering filling with purple power/simple green or similar for a cpl days then dropping in the ultrasonic with the can still filled. Will look up the secret sauce

Question..Does this solution discolor the suppressor then or not ?

CLR is great for entirely titanium cans, but don't use it on aluminum or stainless.
Zach at TBAC technical support has a good post on using CLR.
I've used CLR to clean both of the stainless steel suppressors that I built. The trick is to use it in a ultrasonic tank for around 15min . That's all that is needed and the short exposure time doesn't cause any problems. I don't know about aluminum but I don't think it's something that should be used in suppressors anyway.
