Fire forming resized brass 6.5-284 to 284

Hello I picked up some new Hornady 6.5-284 and I resized to 284 win. Do I or should I fire form the resized brass before I put my regular loads in it?

Thanks doug

You necked the 6.5/284 cases up to 284, meaning part of the shoulder became part of the of the neck. Had you measured the length of the case before you started you would have noticed the case got shorter.

I suggest you load with your regular loads. You should know the length of the chamber from the shoulder to the bolt face. I would suggest you measure the length of the case from the shoulder to the case head before firing.

When I fire a case I eject a once fired case.

I suggest you work up a fireforming load just like you would work up any other load. That's what I did when I was forming 243 AI cases and got a nice sika stag with one of my fireforming shots.

Ok thank you.

I form cases, I am not a fire former. There are times I have no choice, for everything else I form first then fire.
