Fed-ex debacle

FedEx is the worst of the worst.
We are trying to get them banned where I live. I think they need to pass a lowest IQ test throughout the hiring range for that truly bottom of the barrel shipper.
Allot of the drivers that come here do no even speak English and are very very poor drivers.
When ever possible we forbid FedEx as a shipping option and are glad to pay more for UPS, the top pick for us.

My drop shipments for business are with fedex and I've had decent luck. The La Grange KY post office is the worst one I've ever seen. We have mail lost on a regular basis.

@Dusty Stevens any word yet from the clowns that lost your barrel?

The UPS hub here has closed there front office so that you can not drop off anything for shipping.. and if you use one of the UPS Stores here.. they charge you double what the UPS rate is.. i guess i am now going to have to do, pick ups on shipping

Had a trunnion shaft shipped from Atlanta, 5" x about 6ft. They put it on a airline spec skid, strapped it real well. Fedex overnite priority, ordered with plenty of time to process. Nothing next day, Checked, made it to Memphis, no good answer by about 1;00pm. Got the vendor involved, got a call from terminal mgr in Memphis. He's standing in front of it, didn't fit in container the nite before. 2 days later, terminal mgr again--still on floor in Memphis, reship setup from vendor. Both showed up the next day. If you are in a hurry for it, don't use Fedex.

One near me is open only 1 hour a day, can you imagine!!

We primarily use UPS and are on a first name basis with our driver. We also live in a very rural county and yet on our route our driver delivers over 150 packages a day. I believe that UPS, FedEx and the rest are simply overwhelmed thanks to the likes of web shopping from Amazon, Target, Wongmart. I'm simply amazed that half of the packages are delivered. I order things just about every day and some are quite small. Multiply that by the millions.

This thread and some buddies that travel a lot with golf clubs got me thinking... Would an AirTag in the box have helped? Thinking of the times when I mail a barrel, action, or rifle to a gunsmith or a new owner. Throw an AirTag in the box and ask them to return it with the job, or mail it back upon safe receipt. Thoughts?

Interesting idea! Does an AirTag create a log of its geolocation on a periodic basis or just respond when a query is initiated?

I'm not sure on the details, but it somehow uses others' smartphones and Bluetooth devices to ping location. My thinking is it could have located the package after FedEx delivered it to the wrong address.

Great idea.

Looks like multiple alternatives. I like #6.
