Favorite Varmint Rifle Pics Please!

Rem. 700 in .204, Bartlein 1:12, NF 5-25 MOAR-T, Banish 223, total rig about 17.5 lbs.

I will not shoot p-dogs w/o being suppressed, but that means no brake. That means to be able to see my hits (without keeping the magnification way down) I need to shoot 32-gr bullets. But that is fine, this barrel was chosen for those, they are extremely accurate and they do great out to 500 yds. Unless it is a first-shot, DRT kill we don't count it anyway. :)

My Baby !! Bat SV . First one built. Serial no. PT1 6 Dasher , 8 twist HV Brux . Smokin the 75 v-max”s. Richard Franklin laminated blank made into a stock by Jt Barber . 3 inch for varmint shooting and can change front to 4 inch and rear also comes off for flat bottom bench rest conversion .

What kind of velocities are you getting with the 6MM dasher?

Good for you first shot only counts! Thete was an Amish guy just East of me a few years back got a chuck at 600 yards with a 270. It took 5 shots and one shot got away and hit the neighbor woman in the leg while hanging laundry a half mile away!

This is another Sako, Kreiger barrel, Bernard trigger, in .260 136 Gr. Lapua Scenar, Varmint gun I took to the 2019 GBA Nationals and won Hunter class core and Shot a 4.4 in group at 1000 yd. Also does a fine job on hogs.... I made the stocks on the three guns I have posted on this blog.. Richards Mi/Ft stock blanks. I also like Sako's as you can see.....

This rifle was a great, a kit gun, I have $325 in the entire rig, Howa 1500 in 223 shoots a 40 grain Hornady moly coated at 3,900 FPS. I only want head shots on chucks and I shoot crows in moderate wind good to 350 yards. Shoots 1 1/8" groups at 300 yards in low to zero wind.View attachment 1188485
Whats the load if you don't mind me asking, my shilen shoots the 40 at 3740fps with 27.4 gr H335

I got lucky my son called from my house.

Load.
40 grain Hornady VMAX Moly

Brass (this is the key) Malaysian Military 5.56 NATO as I could get about 2 grains more powder in them. Must swage primer pocket. After first firing I neck size only with a neck sizing die. I lucked out with the brass a guy at the range had 1,000 of them from his machine gun he let me have for peanuts over 20 years ago. I've never used more than 60 of them.

Powder 29 grains of H322

Average over 10 rounds 10' from muzzle 2903 FPS

No extractor Mark's, bolt opens with a pull of my pinky.

These rifles are stunning...almost too pretty to hunt with!

Thank you all for posting some very fine rifles! I have a passion for Varmint Guns, and as a hobby machinist it helps me get some really good ideas on what to build. Would love to hear if anyone has a .25 cal gun. Sure wish there were more bullets available. .25BR Ackley or would it be better to move up to 6.5mm? The larger diameter bullets seem to hit much harder, even with less energy.
Call me about the fast twist .25's. 804 690 6868
