I had one. They were not bad. I liked the latest gen Farley better. I like the NEO far better than the both of them. Plus if anything goes wrong with your rest that Sebastian made, his service is 2nd to none. I had the front grab handle that is part of the base break in two and Seb took care of me ASAP. I had a replacement part free of charge in less than a week. You could never get that kind of service from the guy's in Oklahoma City.

To me it just didn't seem as well built and smooth as the Farley and I've owned at least a dozen Farleys.

If you're referring to the new Raptor...it's the best rest I've ever seen and second place is a distant one. I haven't needed service after the sale but the one person I know that did,has his stuff back in a matter of days. Excellent service.

The new Neo X is supposed to be in the same league but I have not handled one yet to say.

I just purchased a front rest from Scott Hunter . I have heard its very similar to Farley and the cost was not outrageous.

I needed to buy a couple set screws and springs. I contacted SEB and told him what was going on. He put me in touch with Ernie Bishop. In short order not only did I have the springs and screws, SEB sent an entire new counterweight system. I wonder if Farley handles issues like that.

You really need to get your hands on a new Raptor or the Neo X. I agree that with a few mods that the Farley is as good or maybe better than the std neo or max...but these new rests are a different level

They're in a different league. I bought a new Raptor a while back and compared it to my Neo in terms of effort to move the stick. It was crazy. Something along the lines of 3ozs to move the Raptor vs like 2.8lbs on the Neo. Don't hold me to those numbers exactly but I posted it on here with pics(somewhere) using a trigger pull gauge. It's smooth as glass too. No over shooting or sticktion, as some call it. It just glides. I haven't had my hands on the new neo x yet but it looks like seb has gone to the same basic design as the raptor, internally, with some small differences. I can't speak to how smooth the seb is but I'm assuming they are comparable to one another now...without getting into splitting hairs between them. If so, I think owners of either of the new rests will be pretty astonished when they feel the difference.

The Rodzilla uses linear bearings vs the seb x using teflon bushings. I can see how they'd be close to the spherical bearings...maybe. It's tough to machine teflon to critical dimensions consistently but I'm sure whatever Seb does is good.

Nothing against Seb but if I can get American made at the same price and quality...I'm sorry but I'm one of those people that buy American whenever I can. It's not personal at all. I think Rod has the best rest on the market and it's American made but that based on my experience with his rest and on what I know about the differences. Not firsthand with the Seb. Seb did go to a loy of trouble to make his rest look good, asthetically. Everyone likes shiny metal. The difference might be down to that for some. But if you liked your old Seb, you'll fall in love with a Raptor rest. I did, and it isn't close. I'm not sure who copied who but it sure looks like the Rodzilla design is what has been immulated in this case. AFAIk, Rod had the same internals for a couple of years or more prior to now. It's was this design thjat drew me to buy his rest in the first place after seeing videos on here where someone copied his original design.

After seeing it....I was like, Wow! That's what I want. Apparently, Seb felt the same way.

Neither are cheap so if you're looking for a bargain, a used Farley or Neo are still just that.

Guys have been buying shooting rest parts from me since 2018. I found the Sinclair rest I had bought had both tension tips broken. The plastic tips that Sinclair made would break off. I started making them along with the extra knob for the left side hole. Replacement holder for the tension spring. Then lock knobs for Farleys, all total it around 75 different parts shooters had look for or could not get from the manufacturer. Even design custom stuff for people. That how the Farley lock knobs started; as something to replace the stupid handle that Farley included. Alan happened to be someone that bought a knob from me and like the quality of my work.

A lot of people do not leave feedback, so not every part I made for shooters is listed in my feedback. Check my feedback if you would like. If you are looking something or have an idea PM me or call my number is below. Just felt I should clear up things, it was never Alan business. He has no machining experience equipment or tooling. Whatever he did make was never meant for sale. He did help with design suggestions, he really got into lubes and was a big help in that aspect. It was fun talking with him on ideas and once again he will be missed. If you haven’t seen the inside of your rest in a long time, give some love or make arrangements to have me do it. I do have what lubes Alan had, most had been left open or was over a year old and the oils had separated. I am buying fresh lubes, it expensive but worth the money

I went back and found a thread where I mention the test but didn't find a video.
I did it using a Lyman digital trigger pull gage in the horizontal plane because neither rest had a gun on it.

The numbers I mentioned above were incorrect. The Raptor took 3.2 ounces and the Neo took 1.8 pounds. Still very substantial.

The Lenzis I've seen are nice but I think they are more comparable to the Neo in terms of how they feel. Nothing comes close to the Raptor, that I've seen, unless the new Neo X model does.

I also misspoke in my previous post when I mentioned the Raptor using spherical bearings. Yes, but I the bearings I intended to mention are linear bearings.
