Yes, it appears that you are knocking me. I have no clue what mark uses and will you show where I have knocked anything he has posted.
I only have experience with the 2300 plus rest tops that i have sold.

later we chatted and you thawed out a little
course that was later in the day when it was warmer out and perhaps you had not warmed up to me as I had envisioned

I've never seen so darn many lubes in my life as when I looked up by bicycle synthetic bearing grease. Was there a particular brand that stood out in performance?

jeffy buddy, I have never built a stock for anybody out there. As I said in my post, I did not say my suggestion on lube was better than whatever Mark suggested. I only posted what works for me. How can mike suggest that the other lube is better or possibly better than what I use? I guess he had an engineer test it.
My recommended grease sure started a bunch of BS. Since Mark said that his wasn't for sale, you guys can try the Park Tool lube.

From the dealings I had with them it would be hard to tell the difference......

They deserve an award for the worst customer service ever.....

Well.....thought I would share where I landed.
Removed that factory boot from around the joystick. Took an appropriate diameter neoprene rubber gasket and split the 3/8" center in 4 places coming out. I hole punched the 4 screw holes using the washer for a pattern. Fit great In the place of the original boot. Thanks Grey Kiwiw for the neoprene washer idea.
I dry assembled the rest with no grease and measured the gap between the back windage sliding plate and the fixed back side. It measured over 2 timed the uhmw tape thickness(with removable back) when slid in the gap. So....why not. I alcohol cleaned the back of the windage plate very thoroughly. I then applied 3/4" wide uhmw tape over the rub marks from the tension screws. Greased everything up as usual and reassembled everything.
I did some load work at 100 yards yesterday. The rebound/bounce seems to be gone. I backed off quite a bit on my tension screws. Everything seams a step above where I was. I might be on the low side of proper tension on the tension screws. We will see. I also think 100 yards is not the right distance to form a good opinion from. When I get back to 500 yard shooting the truth will come out. I have also ordered the grease Mr.Lambert recommended.
