F-Class Products AutoDOD Preview

I installed a new tool head to setup for 300NM a while ago. Took about 10 minutes total on my first time through to remove the 30° setup I was running and replace it with this other tool head with a 20° cutter. Another 5 minutes or so to set it up for a full clean up on this virgin Lapua brass. They start out just under .015" and I'm ending up at a very consistent .0135.

Does this machine require Wilson shell holders? I've got a decent feel for cartridge insert force working with my Wilson trimmer but would dislike not having EXACT repeatability. Hoping that such a precise machine is not affected by my un exact involvement.

It does use custom case holders that are wilson-style. You send your case in the chosen configuration to F-Class Products and they create a custom shell holder for it. Fired cases would require a different one than virgin, most often.

However, that is just to keep things running out properly. You jam it in there as you see fit. The shoulder bump sensor is the thing that makes sure the cut happens the same way each time.

I’ll add this- as you use it over time, the shell holder heats up, and you need progressively less of a “tap” to insert shell. The slower the rate of feed, the warmer the brass gets, and you will need more of a whack to remove it. Takes a few times to get the feel.

I concur. Once you do get the feel for it, this thing really makes quick work of the process!
