Experience with 4D reamer rental?

Got a customer wanting to add a barrel to an Winchester Model 70 Laredo in 7mm STW and I don't have a that reamer. He also wants it throated to shoot 180's and 4D only shows one reamer so I'll have to do some homework to see if the SAAMI reamer can accommodate longer pills. Not a caliber I want to buy a reamer for so I figured I'd check with them but I've called a couple of times with no luck getting an answer (their message says they are busy real busy right now). Unless anyone has a piloted reamer and a go gauge they'd be willing to rent me. I'd prefer the reamer to have the belt ground on it so I don't have to cut the belt but I can per the print if necessary.

I've dealt with 4D several times now.
No complaints, as long as you realize that your getting a SAAMI spec reamer. Aka no custom throates, etc..
Reamers are sharp!
Customer service good to excellent.
Yes, i would use them again!

In the 28yrs I've been cutting chambers I don't believe I have ever seen a chambering reamer for a belted mag not have the belt integral with the reamer. If I didn't already have that reamer I'd buy one, and a 7mm throater, too. Long term says you'll use it again, and more than once. But then, I'm rather picky about the tooling I use. The STW uses std., belted mag gauges, just like the .300 Win. Mag. or the 7mm Rem. Mag.

Good to hear and thanks for the input gents, I'll go ahead and put the order in and hopefully they can get it out the door fairly quickly.

Walt, he's got a 28 Nosler...don't ask me why he needs the STW. He's a buddy of mine that plays in the big leagues and just likes adding to his menagerie of custom rifles.

Shortgrass, good to know. While I was reading up on it I heard of guys using a straight reamer without the belt and having to cut it but I'm glad that's one less thing to deal with. I have a 7mm throater but was just shooting for being able to do it all in one go but no sweat there.

I'm guessing I had a brain fart (kinda live with that apparently). Just remembered that he doesn't reload so he'll be buying off the shelf ammo and that the stuff is loaded to SAAMI spec so I shouldn't need to push the throat out any farther than the SAAMI reamer would cut it?

Only thing is that above where I select the reamer and gauge, it says "pilot floating or solid" but doesn't give me the option to choose and I want the floating as I have tons of bushings. I just don't want to order and then not get what I need. Still trying to call but no answer yet.

When i said SAAMI spec, i was leaning the other way on the throate.
I got one for 284 Win.
Due to that cartridge being SAAMI spec'ed for a semi auto, and lever action the throate is really long!
As in a 160gr GameKing seated out is barely in the neck when it touches the lands.
But i did check & it is SAAMI length, sooo.
No VLDs for my 284 Win. Just too much jump. And yeah, i did try them.

Kck,
4D seems like a one man shop. Not saying thats a bad thing, just sometimes takes some time for him to respond.
I got fastest responses from him by email.

@Kck

IIRC it states somewhere on the website to write in the notes section of the order if you want a bushing type reamer.
