Eric Cortina and Hornady

I'm sure if you go back through every single second of all three or more podcasts you can find a sound bite that if twisted out of context, could imply almost anything. Personally, I wouldn't waste three hours of your life re-listening to the podcasts simply to try and find where they may or may not have mis-spoke. Instead, spend those three hours actually brushing up on basic statistics. *FAR* better use of that time.
I watched all 3 of those podcasts as well, and I didn't learn one single GD thing that will help my shooting in the slightest. Miles said in one that seating depth didn't matter, and in another Jayden said that ES/SD doesn't change with powder charge, it changes with powder type. If that's the depth of their insight, then I don't need to know what they think they know.

AMEN. Statements like that just simply turns a hand loader that knows different away from anything they have to say.

Yea, just simply back ground noise that don't mean a thing when it's just the shooter and the target getting together for a good session.
I don’t begrudge people who are in to that kind of thing or are smarter than me, we need those people too. But if that level of math and statistics are required I’m screwed. It sounds like a total buzzkill. Looks like a great way to turn a passion into a migraine.

Could definitely be a motivational killer for some. I refuse to buy into the B S.

Maybe we hear different or interpret differently. I heard Jayden say that small powder charge difference made little change in ES/SD (.1 or .2 grain) compared to larger changes (.5 - 1.0) and I would suppose we would expect that. And that different powders made more of a change and I would suppose we would expect that. That sounds like he support what many precision handloader and precision shooters do to develop their loads.

I know that is what I did went I went down the rabbit hole. I didn't want a component combinations that small changes in powder would make large difference otherwise the combination may be to erratic and/or unstable. But I chased those small/little differences because I was seeking the best I could do with what I had available.

If I found one powder over the other provided better ES/SD I would go with the more stable and then fine tune that charge for my components, rifle system and the weakest link, ME! I'm not a civilian competitive shooter but I would think a shooter that is competitive would seek out those small improvements that may provide them an edge. I'm not taking a side, just expressing what I heard and how I understand it.

Yes they did but here's the rub.....Erie voted for Trump in the 2016
elections. A lot of it was mainly of the unions up here and we make
the Locomotives. It was seen as a threat of the old GE plant closing
down, and Trump was'nt going to let that happen. Well he won with
all the labor support up here during that time frame. Problem was, he
then turned tail. Unions don't forget thing's. In 2020 he lost all support.
from the trades. Erie has a very strong manufacturing base, hard working
blue collar, and largest voters base.
So, if the unions didn't support Trump, is it safe to assume that they supported Biden?
Based on the current economy, do you think that was a smart decision?

I just finished watching the interview, and maybe I missed it, but was the subject of bullet quality ever brought up.

When someone is talking about using 100+ shots as a qualifying sample in determining a rifles true agging capability, and then try’s to figure out why 5% of those 100 did not go where they should have, my first thought is bullets.

All of the powder changes, seating depth changes, neck tension, brass prep, primer seating, superior gunsmithing, and gosh knows what else will not help when you are shooting what can be described as semi custom bullets.

Also, there wasn’t a whole lot coming from Hornady’s end concerning wind reading. Or maybe I missed that as well.

I really like Eric. Especially his interview with Bart. The entire hour was a lesson in good old common sense.

Most of what I see with the stuff from the "high end" discussions about the various bughole pursuits just reinforces or refreshs stuff I already knew about, in some cases consolidates it, in some cases explains it a bit better. If you can read and understand, then take the time to research, it's really all available for free, just have to sort thru the BS here and there. Then decide for yourself if that is something you want to apply to your stuff, or not. Not like this stuff hasn't been thought about and discussed before these podcasts. Even though these folk are charging for their forum or Patreon access, they give most of their stuff away, if you watch them often enough.

Yes !! People forget that the problems with the economy/inflation
starts with the previous administration. Did'nt help that Trump
increased the debt by nearly 7 Trillion. Biden's problem is not being
capable of fixing it. and in most cases throwing more money at the
problem making it worse. And the snowball continues to roll no matter
who is in office.....

I apologize for being so far off on this thread.....I need to look at that
previous posted video of Lytz and Cortina.
