Just wait untill electric companies rais rates th where it is more than gasoline. The electric company that i have gouges the hell out of there customers. I do not have a large house and a newer a/c unit. Im $480 during summer and right now in winter im $290. They have been raising rates last few years. Another company in the area i have friends paying during summer $300 during the hotter months and have older homes with older a/c units. Go all electric then rates will go higher since you have no choice.

Hetz said it would cut its EV adoption losses by offloading a third of its global fleet to buy gas-powered cars. That'll put 20,000 EVs up for sale, including those from Tesla, in response to weak take-up and elevated repair costs. I'd say that puts paid to the notion that EVs are a fait accompli. Hertz has been down in the dirt with them.

Hertz even limited the torque and speed on the EVs and offered it to experienced users on the platform to make them easier to adapt after certain users had front-end collisions, according to CEO Stephen Scherr.

A note.

My Chevy Bolt EUV normally charges to a full charge of around 240 miles, give or take.

During this recent cold spell, where it has been in the high 20’s, it will only charge to around 200 miles Of range.

The actual KiloWatt usage seems to be about the same on my combined 92 mile commute each day.

Ultimately, those cars are coal powered. Its coal that charges their batteries. That's where most of the electricity comes from. They didn't work a hundred years ago, and they don't work today. You can wish for them to make a difference, but they don't, and wont ever make a difference to the "climate". If you want one fine, live with the fact that children died to mine the materials needed to make your useless fire prone battery.

On a side note, my wife manages an auto repair shop. She hates for someone to bring an EV in. The owners are always offended when the repair estimates exceed the value of the EV. If you do not have the financial ability to trade for a new EV before maintenance becomes an issue do not purchase one.

You are right. Read the articles at Manhattan Contrarian You will see it's not economically feasible in any way at this time unless we (you and me) suffer, do without, and perhaps even die. Ask yourself why billions of people do what a few thousand decree. Ask yourself why China and India aren't playing the game.

EV owners in the Chicago area are experiencing significant charging issues… vehicles have been left at charging stations with flat batteries that won’t accept a charge. The current technology (pun intended) is not ready for wide spread use!

Why I won’t even consider buying one…
