Going to be interesting, Joe going to tear down 5 Hydro Electric dams so the Salmon can spawn. I thought that was resolved. What can be more economical than Hydro Electric Power Plants.? Going back to wood stoves.

Uh, not so fast. "The Biden administration ... pledged to fund dam removal studies." And "Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who participated in the news conference, didn’t commit his support for dam breaching ...".

All this does for now is give $1B to some Indian tribes suing the Federal government, and they agreed to gulp hard but take the extortion money, and "pause" their lawsuits for 5 to 10 years. Very big of the Indians, as a billion doesn't really buy much these days, and we all know they have expensive taste in lavish homes and fancy cars.

This is called kicking the can down the road, and virtue signalling to the fish huggers and Indians.

All I heard was the plants got a reprieve for 5 years. :)

Where they are all located, not sure.
Diablo Canyon is the only one remaining, go figure it puts out power cheaper and cleaner than other sources.... so lets close it !

The plant has two Westinghouse-designed 4-loop pressurized-water nuclear reactors operated by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). Together, the twin 1100 MWe reactors produce about 18,000 GW·h of electricity annually (8.6% of total California generation and 23% of carbon-free generation), supplying the electrical needs of more than 3 million people.[5] The plant produces electricity for about 6 cents per kWh, less than the average cost of 10.1 cents per kWh that PG&E paid for electricity from other suppliers in 2014.[6]
