Taxes??? Just paid $5.57 a gallon for Chevron. A BUNCH of taxes tacked on to a gallon of gas. But we in California have that "$pecial Blend".:mad::rolleyes:

I was at the Peterson Auto Museum in LA earlier this week. Shell station down there had regular @ 7.79, Premium @ 7.99. I admit other gas stations were $.20 cheaper. No, I did not need fuel thank God.

BTW If you ever have the opportunity to visit the Peterson Auto Museum you won't be disappointed

Just check the subsidies and it is easy to see what works and what doesn't. The subsidies are paid with fiat money, we print that. When interest on the debt, 31 trillion, is more than the GDP we are doomed. Europe has realized wind and solar is not sensible and have gone back to nuclear. We are slow learners!

I believe the power that saves the earth has not been invented yet.

Not exactly "gone back" to nuclear. Sweden did just reverse its moratorium on uranium mining and plans to build 10 large new nuclear reactors. But Germany shut down its last three nuclear plants this year, and, while it imports lots of electricity from France, is trying to block France's plan to modernize its nuclear power plants! Finland just started up a huge new nuclear power plant. A few other nations - Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and Bulgaria - continue to operate older reactors.

Check out how stars work..
Ah, fusion power generation. The miracle technology which, for 60 years now has been only 10 years away from practical realization. Research into fusion reactors began in the 1940s, but until December 2022 no device had ever reached even momentary net energy gain.

I wonder what's worse. polluted environment, getting shot by some low life pos that gets away with everything or a million other things?
EVERYTHING has it's drawbacks.
A Nuke power plant? Seems like the REST OF THE WORLD is dealing with them so far. There are FREAK accidents in everything we do. Pick your own and roll with it.
Sure better than waiting for good weather, 70*, the sun to shine or the wind to blow to run your AC of charge your EV.

The sun has been “powering” the earth for billions of years.

Fission power was commercialized in Shippenport PA in the late 1950’s for electricity generation. It’s only a matter of time until we sort out fusion power… unless we destroy ourselves first!

If this has been posted already I apologize.
