Electric Cars -- anyone own one?

The government can create taxes on any commodity!

So the question of the energy needed to create hydrogen remains unanswered, and therefore, its economic viability. Even if a lab level chemical process is developed, it has to be economically scalable to mass production. Then there is the cost of creating distribution infrastructure. Many hurdles ahead…
If and when the on-board hydrogen generator is developed there will be no need for a distribution infrastructure, Dr. Stanley Meyers did it~! Although attempts have been made to debunk his demonstration of an on "board generator", I believe it was real~!

If there's interest in investment, I've initiated a project centered around a vehicle powered by static electricity. While the concept is intricate, the basic idea involves the driver wearing a wool sweater and rubbing a balloon on it. The generated static electricity is captured and conducted by an evolving technology, eventually wirelessly transmitted to a motor that is yet to be specified or invented.

PM me for serious inquiries.

The American automobile industry is competing on an international scale. The fact that jobs have fled to other countries is a sign that we have lost a few rounds in this fight. Other countries are subsidizing and supporting electric vehicle manufacturing. It is important for the US to support family wage jobs for “blue-collar“ workers. The automobile industry is very good at providing well paying jobs. A lot of our political problems come from the loss of jobs for middle-class Americans. Supporting a strong electric vehicle industry is good for America, good for workers. Electric cars are not going away. It would be a shame to lose these jobs to other countries. The electric vehicle industry is probably going to be the core of automobile manufacturing in a few years. Supporting it is one of the smart things the current administration has tried to do. It would be a shame to lose these jobs to Japan, China and Europe as the EV market grows. (Specifically, I tried 3 times to buy a Ford F150 “Pro“ Lightning EV but was told that one would not be available to me for at least a year, so I bought a Toyota instead.)
Is that why Ford shut down its EV manufacturing facility~?

With an "on-board hydrogen generator" there is no need for a distribution infrastructure. The generator would be installed as the vehicle is being built and water is as close as you home tap~!

Seems like every day there’s something negative posted on EV’s

The real reason for the Tesla Hearse.

This does not make sense. How can the guardrail contain most trucks, but not a EV ?

BTW: Silverado EV comes in at just under 10,000 lbs.

Earlier in this thread, I mentioned the Hybrid PushBoat that Kirby has built.

It is a true hybrid, the entire vessel is run by the batteries, the diesel engine/generators kick in to charge the batteries when they go below 40%.

Now it seems that a company is in the design stages of a electric that uses methanol/water hydrogen generators as the source of fuel for fuel cells generate the electricity.

All I saw was a brochure on it. The technology is supposed be sound. Only the future will tell.

Well BMW is coming out with their hydrogen powered car in 2025.

Any disinterested observer of this thread must surely come away astonished by the amount of puerile mockery of EV owners that contributes absolutely nothing useful to the discussion

Microwaved steaks, Tesla Hearses, it ain’t got no gas memes.

Really, guys?

How exactly is this making you feel better about yourself?

Just here to mock and fight?

This thread restates the negativeness of the universe, the hideous, lonely emptiness of existence. Nothingness. The predicament of man forced to live in a barren, godless eternity like a tiny flame flickering in an immense void with nothing but waste, horror and degradation forming a useless, bleak straitjacket in a black, absurd cosmos.

There, feel better now :p You are looking too deep into this. I see it as a bunch of forum guys expressing opinions about a subject not aligned with the primary purpose of this forum. There is a fair amount of real information here, and just as much humor, mixed in with questionable information also. It's all opinion. If a EV works for someone, buy one, if not don't. Thats what it boils down to. I have no reservation about buying an EV, the numbers just don't work for me now.

Have a good evening ...

I read a lot of immature things here and you dispense it quite well also.
But I'll make it easy for you, I don't care about you or your opinions.

Great… Dr Meyers has solved the world’s energy needs! Oops… he was found guilty of fraud in a lawsuit filed by two investors in his “water powered car” project and ordered to repay them. Since his patents have expired, making the technology free for anyone to use, none have. I wonder why?
