E-Targets for F-Class

....and everyone got the same pit service;). Crossfires caused a little delay to ensure the correct call was made but pull targets sometimes take as long to get confirmation that a miss occurred.
And at one point, I had to call for faster firing service on some targets because the shooters were too slow. :)

Well, I wanted to do that, but the MD would not let me do that.:D

Deny, you brought it up so I'll ask. Were there any issues? Because there is no record to demonstrate the accuracy of the targets I'll ask about the one issue we can see from the firing line...

Specifically how many people had dropped shots/refires?
Wade I know our target during the team match on Friday went down 7 times it is what it is..and as the saying goes we had to suck it up buttercup and roll on.

What do you mean went down and do you or Adam know what caused it?

Yeah but think if a midget was pulling it and how long it would take to score it..all sighters for record..

I can't be involved in non-PC conversations. If you want to continue this conversation, you will need to choose a new term. Shall we agree on little person?

Hmm. Little person wrestling just doesn't get it, does it? Little person rodeo? Little person tossing? I give up.

You’re right..damn autocorrect on my phone.

I think it was something to do with a bad cable and sensor not working good..nothing at all with the quality of Adams target.
The biggest issue we have is cable connections. 23 targets x 8 connections is a lot of mechanical interconnects. A couple of targets had issues till we replaced the cables. In retrospect we should have bought higher quality cables. They do tend to get shot up fairly regularly though. Luckily we have not lost a sensor hub yet.
We also had problems with two 223’s not having sufficient velocity at the target and numerous crossfires (some claimed and some not).
It wasn’t perfect but we learned a lot as did Adam.

In all truth Adam wasn’t the first.

He did manage to get word of his Shot Marker system out literally days before Silver Mountain Targets announced their SOLO product’s availability, and at a slight discount to what SMT sells theirs for.

SMT’s been around for awhile, developing the technology and making open-mic systems available to both interested clubs as well as individuals users.
How do you know SMT weren’t going to put their SOLO out for considerably more than they did or even offer a cheaper version of what they already had on the market.?

If you guys concentrated more on staying on target rather than visiting the areas around it, you would not have shot the cables and the target would not have needed to be taken down at all.

Live and learn.

There is that one target with a bullet hole about 2 inches from the sensor hub.

That is a good point and good info to include from people that state any E target failed or went down.

One fairly recent post here where the poster said the " E Target Failed" upon further inquiry it failed because the sensor hub got shot.

If going down meant the shooters were shooting out the sensors and cables that should be noted to clarify it wasn't a failure or malfunction because of poor design or equipment quality.

Good / Solid feedback from us end users will only help the manufactures continuously improve their products and help put potential new customers minds at ease if deciding to make a purchase or not..

I think Adam got a lot of good solid feedback this weekend at TSRA.

The issue with the cables is that whatever setup we come up with, it will still be unable to deal with a piece of jacketed lead coming at it at over 1400FPS. The best we can do is make it easily replaceable. Now, if we could get folks like Otis to stay on target, that would make it even better. :D

Some of us just can’t shoot as good as you..but we’re getting closer and learning every time we go out..things will get better with etargets we all will have to suffer the growing pains that come with something new

I didn't shoot on Friday; I was too lazy.

For Saturday and Sunday, trust me when I say that I visited the entire target but I stayed away from the cables, the sensors and the sensor hub. That took some doing at times, but I was up to the task. (I'm thinking that in my case, the best place for the sensor hub would have been the X-ring.)

Months before either SOLO or SM were announced, an 8-mic ‘upgrade’ for the G2 SMT was pegged at ‘around US $800’ by both the USA rep at that time as well as the Canadian developer.

Adam got news of his SM product out first, SMT’s SOLO appeared soon after.
