Time Delay for Shot Recording on E-Targets

I am told that the NRA minimum time delay to show impact on a target using E-targets is 7 seconds.
Anyone hear any different?

Looks like that will be the official rule for F-class, no delay rule for sling shooters as far as I know.

I’m still waiting on a video of someone shooting 20 shots from laying on the ground in 140 seconds or less on a clean target.
I guess you could go 5 at a time 4 different times in a relay. I’m not saying it can’t be done, just would like to see it.
Case of beer from me if it’s off a bipod

As I recall, Brian Bowling had posted just such a video somewhere a while ago. I believe the score was 200-16x in 2 minutes, 2 seconds on an e-target with no delay. I don’t remember where I saw it, maybe he’ll post it here.

@sdean

I can’t find the video I’m referring to in a quick search, hopefully someone will post it. I did find this though, it’s a link to a Hexta file where he shot a 200-14x at 1000 yards on a Hexta Target with no delay. According to the time stamps, it looks like his 20 record shots took 119 seconds. Does that count?

Possibly worth noting, 160 seconds would be about the fastest possible 20-shot string with a 7-second delay after you factor bullet time of flight. That would require shooting every shot the instant the last shot appeared on the display. 180 seconds is probably more realistic. That's still pretty darned fast, and I don't think any but the very best target pullers on the planet could get you done in a shorter time than that.

Wonder how far away his target was?

What’s the highest score ever fired in NRA rapid-fire sitting at 200 yards?

Admittedly that would have been fired in two 10-shot strings, each a minute in length.

So doing it while taking an ‘extra’ two seconds in prone (you get 70 seconds for each string in prone rapid @ 300 yards; always seemed backwards to me), shooting all 20 rounds without a break half-way along, and without aid of feeding from a magazine is still impressive shooting!

Thanks Norm. Brian don't count. He shoots clean on most targets. I was scoring for him at Henry Co. one day last year
, the first time all Etargets I think and he was running right along and then dropped a point.Looked like he slowed down after that.

The point of the story is for most just a 7 second delay isn't a delay at all.

I was next to Brian at Bar 3 last year, at 1000yds IIRC, and by the time I got my second shot for record he was removing his rifle from the line. I assumed he had a mechanical issue and was withdrawing to fix the problem....NOT...he said he was done. I though he was kidding! If he did not clean it it was a 199.
