No, of course not. Plotting shots has always been an option should you desire to take the time to do so.

The point being that the target system should only replace the puller/marker and not provide any any additional information not available by the traditional manual methods during the match.

Do you still drive a T model Ford or use the same equipment now as was used in the beginning. Of course not evolution happened. Evolution is happening to the targets and recording systems now as it should and will continue to happen.

So when do we go the route of the progressive forward thinking Olympic Modern Pentathlon and dispense with actual firearms and use game console laser rifles? Ya know, for both safety reasons and to reduce the environmental impact of the lead bullets. *pfft*.

Very much this (stolen from my friend LBart): Fulvio, an outstanding post! I think you have summed up the reasons for the need of a delay (and I am adding only showing the single previous shot).

Shooters all over the country should shoot all their shots under the same ‘conditions’ as much as possible, regardless of whether or not they are shooting on a paper or ET target.

Obviously not. That's a weak argument at best, hopefully facetious. An e-target should replace the person in the pits, not give a shooter new skills to make their job easier. Plotting is a skill, and there are tradeoffs to doing it, like anything else.

Find some middle ground bring on the delay and only display last shot on screen, plot with pen if you like and let’s let the guns do the talking....

My experience is limited to ETargets only, I’m a new comer but I get what the people that have been shooting on manual targets for years say.. If I ever set a record I don’t want it watered down because I rattled them of in good conditions, I want it as close to the original rules as possible using ets, they don’t have to change the game just improve it.. JMO of course..

I believe we need to do what we can to keep the spirit of F Class a slow fire discipline. Weather that be manual target pullers, E Target delays or more pair firing. I myself usually have more success shooting fast but know deep down inside that he who reads the wind better than the next guy will usually rule the day. Only way to get better at that is to practice in the conditions that force you to get better at wind reading.

I love it when competitors plot. The whole time they have their heads down scribbling in a book, the real world is blowing right in front of them. And, they never see it.

Yeah, but 3600 have viewed this blog. Perhaps some of them have an ear to the ground and are capable of making a change, seeing that a change is due..... Oh, I like you gif, however I believe it was initially "kick a dead mule". Nice try.

Please. The F-Class/E-target world is only changing because people like you that favor E-targets are trying to force the change. I don't need anyone else to tell me what's best for me, so knock it off. Start your own version of F-Class if that's your aim...like George Farquharson did. Forcing E-targets with no delay and all shots visible on the whole of F-Class shooters now would be analogous to Mr. Farquharson trying to force all the sling shooters to adopt his proposed optic/support changes. Wisely, he chose to begin a new classification rather than go down that road.

Edited to add - as fellow competitors, we should all be in this together. There's no reason that the use of E-targets in F-Class can't be adopted in such a way that is acceptable to the majority of participants, whether they are E-Target proponents or not. However, that will require some minor concessions on both sides, as such things usually do.
