You sound like me I fell in March cracked a hip and back . Just now getting out to shoot on 7/18/2023 and didn't do very good , and I'm 83 .Biggest risk for those over 75 is falling. I fell in my shop three months ago and fractured (compression) three vertebrae. Doc says it will take three more months to fully heal. I am only 79.
Otherwise I would be playing this.
At 83, out shooting under them conditions,,, I'd say your an inspiration, and pretty darn good myself, I'm hoping I can overcome that adversaty in another 13 years, I'd be feeling real good if I can.You sound like me I fell in March cracked a hip and back . Sorry I capped it at 25 and have a 8/1 complete date. I may offer another one at a later time. Will see how this one goes. Thanks for your interest, would be interesting to see what the Old Sako had in her.Is this still going on ? I have a pretty good shooting Sako L46 S/N 7559 so probably 1950ish. Like to join if it's not too late![]()
I have just acquired a deuce with Womack 222 stamped on the barrel. It’s a Remington 722 action and has a very nice trigger. Does anyone know if that is a wildcat or a 222 made by a “womack”?Never heard of .222 Super. Could you please describe? I'm a big fan of "smaller is better" (20VT was most accurate short range rig I ever owned).
ThanksWomack, a gunsmith from Shreveport Louisiana that made very accurate rifle.
Whether it is a wildcat I can't tell you but a.chamber cast will.
Of course I could be full of groundhogs doo doo but I feel my scores were severely hindered by a 10x scope with a 1 inch dot and the IBS targets. I just might load some shells and shoot some groups at plain old orange dots to compare. For a one time deal it was not worth the effort to mount a spare 30mm 15x60 GE.I shot my targets yesterday and didn't do nearly as well as I thought I would do. My results were similar to Jeffppc. I have shot 220 rounds on pdogs since I did load development in march and saved 30 rounds for these targets. I don't know if it throat erosion, barrel fouling, or the heat, but that is my excuse. Should have shot these targets right after we got them. Will be sending my targets back tomorrow.
I swapped out a 18x for a 36. It didn't help cause I suck.Of course I could be full of groundhogs doo doo but I feel my scores were severely hindered by a 10x scope with a 1 inch dot and the IBS targets. Early morning or just before dark it is usely calm .I get home on Thursday, will shoot over the weekend and get them mailed in. Every day I was home in June and July the wind blew, been waiting for a dead calm day that never came. Out of time now so I shoot with whatever Mother Nature gives me.
