Dust off your Deuce

Was thinking about sending out 6 official 100 yard group targets for shooters wanting to test the agging potential of their .222,222mag and .222 super. Shoot warmup (optional) put 5 shots on the honor system in the other 5 targets and send them back to me for measuring. I will have them labeled match 1 thru 5 with shooter name .Shoot them at your leisure and return to me by 8/1. I will include with the targets an equipment sheet for rifle and load data thinking varmint and benchrest class. Also going to host a dedicated deuce day at the Canaan Riffle Club in Canaan NY on August 13, day after the IBS 100 yard group shoot. Was hoping to have all targets measured and a match report created to list with the deuce day report. I was thinking cutting off the mail out targets to the first twenty interested. Probably a plaque with a t-shirt for the winners of the BR and Varmint class. Hope this makes sense, pm me address if you want to try it. Only shooter expense is return shipping to me. Should be a fun way to celebrate the deuce!

Scott if you still have room I'll participate. I just got my Panda together. A full blown, old school BR build. Old school McMilan stock, old school Bauch and Lomb 36x w/fine hair.

Let me know if I'm late to the table, and any fees, (donations)?

Thanks for your efforts, I'll join in the fun, good luck to all, just hope your all not to hard in me, remember I'm old,,,, ;)

This looks like a barrel of fun. I have an absolutely factory original 700 BDL Varmint Special deuce that would be fun to participate with but not sure how quick you are wanting targets back and if I would have time to do this.

Received my targets. Been shooting some nice groups out of the 222 this spring. I am excited to see if I can keep it together for all 25 shots.

Sorry for the question, we are just scoring groups, not where it hits in relation to the bulls eye, right?

Cool, Glad to hear you've been shooting some good ones. Yes your group can print anywhere in the upper box and be good. I like my groups to print right under the moth ball (bulls eye) as to not shoot out point of aim. Good Luck!

Good luck fella's, i have to sit this one out. Finally had some time off and decent weather to shoot a couple of rounds, then the world comes crashing down around you. I was loading up my range box, target stand, and other gear and our lovely momma cat decided to run between my legs and down i went with my hands full of stuff and no time to react against the bumper of my pickup! So long story short, R collarbone broken in 5 pieces and have surgery scheduled for the middle of next week. I guess this competition wasn't meant to be for me.

Damn it man. We sure don’t “bounce” the way we used too!
My old girl dog is 15 1/2 as I type. Lost a bunch of weight, vet did blood work and such, no cancer signs, did have some issues addressed with meds, doing better. Picky about what she eats, tried everything imaginable, only thing she has ate on a consistent basis is Arby’s roast beef sandwiches, 4 for $10. They are cheaper than what I can buy and make.
Under foot ALL the time, dang near face planted a few times the past few weeks.

Get healed up to have a go the next time.

Biggest risk for those over 75 is falling. I fell in my shop three months ago and fractured (compression) three vertebrae. Doc says it will take three more months to fully heal. I am only 79.

Otherwise I would be playing this.

COhunter,
So sorry to hear about your recent injury. Surgeons can do amazing things now and days and will have you back on the range before you know it. I wish you well on your upcoming surgery and recovery. Keep your targets for the next one, you’ll be first in line.
