Does Hornady One Shot hurt anything?

The smell doesn’t bother me and if kroil tasted as good as it smells I would switch from Pepsi to it. I’ve used lots of one shot over the years and I think it does a okay job but I don’t want any lube of any kind on my shoulders so when I use it I put the cases neck down in a block and spray it then still wipe shoulders clean before sizing. Mostly I use imperial anyways.

Nice test. You mentioned that you don’t like to use the SD/ES from the shot marker. How far off do you find it to be from velocity on the Garmin?

I have used One Shot for several years now and it works just fine, but I do follow the directions. As for odor and such, I don't notice anything that bothers me, but then again I don't spray it all around like some do, I guess.
Interesting video on his testing, which does seem to shoot down some myths you see on social media regarding it, that some post. Could they be arm chair critics ?

I will add, as another did. I have used Imperial also, both of these do the job. just do not overdue either of them, a little dab will do you. You old timers remember that one ?

I’ve used one shot for years and used royal lube spray can and imperial as well. I have noticed no appreciable difference in how they shoot.

I'm an old school kinda guy. You want to use that new fangled stuff .... go right ahead, no sweat off my nose.
For hunting rounds, I use RCBS lube. For target, Imperial (but it's a PITA to get off the brass).

Spray down a small towel with some 99% alcohol. Lay about ten cases on top of it, all pointing in the same direction. Take the other end of the towel and lay it on top sandwiching the brass in the middle. Move the towel back and forth and the cases will roll along with it cleaning them all in a few seconds. I can do 50 in about two minutes.

Velocity at the target (ShotMarker) will be affected by wind velocity.
Read the wind all you want. So will the bullet along it's path.
So will the SM microphones.

One Shot hurts nothing. Been using it a long time and never hurt brass or groups. I spray in on the brass in a ziplock bag and then dump it in a box and go back and spray more and then size when done. Follow the directions and it works. After all the sizing/trim I toss my brass in the tumbler for about 20-30 minutes and then prime. I usually do about 800-1000 pieces at a time and it makes short work of it.

The only thing I found hurtful using One Shot was my wallet.

A tin of Imperial Sizing Wax lasts me about 4 to 5 years even loading about a thousand centerfire rife cases a year.
My tin of Imperial sizing wax has lasted 7 yrs so far with well over 10K reloads, and. . . not a single sizing problem with it. :D But, I don't process a large amount of brass at a time either.

After annealing and sizing I remove the sizing wax I then take a q tip soaked in one shot and lube the inside of the necks then prime. I then place all my bullets in a plastic bag and hit them with one shot a few times let them dry. I then dump powder and seat, bullets seat like butter and I never worry about a cold wield because of the lube between the brass and the copper bullet. Give it a try and see how smooth it is.

I've reloaded well over 20 thousand rounds building a stockpile for the zombie apocalypse/SHTF scenarios and shooting to keep my skills sharp.

In my Hornady progressive press, I use the lanolin/alcohol mix for my cases to deprime and resize. I then put them in a wet tumbler with Lemishine, Dawn soap, and steel pins for a thorough cleaning. All residue is removed, brass is shiny, and primer pockets clean. I usually do this in bulk of a hundred or more rounds at a time.

Its not uncommon for me to shoot 400 rounds a week, and lanolin/alcohol mix saves me a significant amount of money compared to 1shot, which btw, works great.

I've been using one shot since 2018. I have a small box I stand them in and spray them down. I've never bothered cleaning it off and have never seen a reason to.

I've also used one shot for years. I prefer the black can cleaner& lube. Never even almost stuck a case.
I have a "painting box" i put 2 trays at a time in & spray front and backs. I do wipe em off before cleaning pockets.
