Do it yourself Stock making thread

Use a little heat to get the sleeve out, I’m sure it’s got some epoxy on it- all else fails saw the butt off where you want it- up to the sleeve-

On the trigger guard, make sure the trigger doesn’t hit the bottom of the guard, before milling it off- or YOU will be adding a piece to build it back up-
Gabe after long talks with Jim I believe the pillar is sitting proud of the bottom of the inlet.
If @JFrank were to measure the difference between bottom.of stock to bottom of trigger guard inlet, bottom of stock to proud pillar, and the bottom of trigger guard and compare, he should find what he needs to address.
I sent him Speedy's video, on trigger guard inlet discussing bats radial head screw and it didn't alleviate the problem.
Without having it in my hands this is all just speculation of course on my end.

that looks good— is your bolt cutout large enough to let the bolt close against the action without touching wood?
Yes it’s wide enough now and after a couple passes with a rat tail it’s almost too deep, I should have put tape around that but I didn’t think about it.
My action screws and eschusion washer should be here today. I’ll cross my fingers that they’re not errant as well.. just my luck Kim..

i never put a bedding block in any of my stocks but i think i outta try it. i would glue it in and also fasten it from the outside of the slock somehow. would probably make the block to.
Yes these blocks get epoxies in with marine grade epoxy west systems using micro beeds . Depending on the stock and action I normally cross pin my my full 1 piece vblock trigger guards I to stocks. But this 1 will be glued in with epoxy with no cross pins . Haven't had 1 pop out or give any issues . Have even done my roo shooting rig the same way full Ali block epoxies in with MAG well cut out .

Well I noticed the rear action pillar has a mind of its own. Also I just found out the BAT action screws have different diameters, rear measures .243 while the front is .254 ish.
Just to be clear, the unthreaded part is what I’m referring to not the threads.

Who knew ?

its a continual learning process for sure. what cartridge is this stock for?

So this is how I do the epoxy pre stage . So apply epoxy to inletted box section . Then apply heaps to block didn't get a picture of that idiot . Use dumby bolts to hold barrelled action in place them remove barrelled action the following day . Do miner clean up where necessary and away it goes out the door .

i have a junk bench top imported mill but it works good for wood inletting jobs and keeping everythinh strait. i would have a little trouble keeping the block in there strait with the stock. i guess i would do like you say and hold it by fastening the barrel and let it hold the block in place.thanks
