Discontinuing the Legends (Pistols Etc.)

I picked up a mint 70's S&W Model 41 a few years ago. Just because. It is an iconic pistol. Sad that they have chosen to discontinue it.

An acquaintance of mine has 8+ Model 41's in his safe (8 was the last number I heard - haven't seen him in a year and a half.) Keep trying to get him to sell me one, but he won't budge. I sold the one I had (probably a late 70's early 80's short barrel model) and regret it every time I see one on the firing line.

I have a 5.5 inch 41 from the 70’s I have shot the heck out of it, and abused it. I also had a 5 inch field barrel stolen from me. Both are/were reliable.

If they start giving malfunctions the first thing I do is strip the slide completely, including taking the bolt out and clean thoroughly.

No other pistol fits my hand like a 41.
