Not sure that i have a budget at this point. This is just the beginning point for me in searching out what is available. The point i am trying to get to is have a decent, not exactly sure what that means, camera so my son can do some 4-H projects. Once he is through with that then the family will have it for future uses. How much are you looking to spend?
I recently bought a digital camera primarily for recording video. Through the years I've purchased digital's but was always depressed to find phone cameras catching up to and matching my "new" hunnerds-of-dalars-worth of cameras....... So I hadn't bought one for ten yrs.
But I decided I wanted a GOOD video camera.
So's I went to the geeks and the guys who do this for a living filming outdoor shows and production films and asked about good video-cams or camcorders.
And ended up with something ENTIRELY different!
I found out about the Sony DSLR Alpha A7 series of cameras
My "budget" went from "up to 5-600 dollars, max" to 2500.00 but I gotta tell ya this thing is AWESOME!!
It shoots spectacular movie quality videos, it shoots amazing pictures but most weirdest of all IT SEES IN THE DARK!
I can't honestly call this tech "future-proof" but I think I'll be satisfied for the rest of my life with this "buy once/cry once" purchase.
If you can get your hands on a Sony A7s ll or any of the A7 series, wait 'til it's too dark to see and turn the camera on. This is the hunting video camera to beat ALL hunting video cameras......Moonlight?? Might as well be noon in Arizona.....I’ve done some filming for tv shows, and dslr hands down takes the cake for video. Most guys use them bc they are sooo much cheaper than a “video” camera, and almost zero noticeable difference. Plus they take pictures. You can scoop good dslr for 1000$ but the kicker is the lenses. I do know that buying a 2x magnifier is popular to use on multiple lenses, but you have to be careful on the light it cuts in on if you are going to be using it dusk or dawn. If you aren’t a “hunter” or not filming hunts, that may not matter. Probably can capitalize on someone else’s mistake on eBay or other classified areas.
Where is a good source for purchasing a digital camera? I've been looking on ebay and they have tons of stuff. Just wondering if there is a better source with better prices? Let me know, thanks!
