I was talking to my dad re the cost of a good scope. He was amazed and mentioned that he had bought a complete digital camera kit from Nikon for less, and that included 3 lens.
So we got to wondering if the Glass used in cameras is not as good as the glass in high end scopes.
I commented that a scope probably has a dozen lenses but no idea how many a camera has.
Is it simply a case of Nikon sells more units and therefore can afford to have a smaller profit on each unit, or is there another reason I have not touched on?
