De-capping die

I can see the appeal of specialized de-cappers, but I'm frugal; ok I can be quite a cheapskate at times.

I just use a standard sizing die that's bigger than the target case. Either without an expander ball or one that's smaller than the case mouth. For example a 22-250 die on a 6x47 Rem case. No need for a special de-capping die.

The stuck primer problem can be solved by shaping the end of the de-capping pin. Too sharp of a radius causes the primer to stick on the pin and get pulled partway back in the case when the pin is withdrawn. Break that edge and the problem goes away. Conversely, if the radius is too big, the round end will also stick.

Is there a universal de-capping die you would recommend?
Need it for 6, 6.5, 30, all BR’s
Does it come with a rod that is for the small flash holes?
Descriptions I have read are not clear to me.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I have a Hornady universal decapping die, that I use for 9mm, 40 caliber, 30/30, 45/70 and .500 S&W. Works great as many dies are combined with resizing. When decaping with combined resizing die you can bugger up the die by decapping dirty cases especially range pick up.

The Mighty Armory die is probably the best one I've used. Different pins are available. But the cheap Lee die also served me well for years until getting the Mighty Armory die

Good die. I've got the Mighty Armory PUA decapper.

They've currently got a sale on blem examples of the PUA die, which come with two of the 0.057" pins, though no indication of what exact blemishes are on the die (which might be worth a call to MA to find out):

I've used a Harvey for years. Super nice tool.
Another option if you like decapping by hand, that doesn't get near enough love in my opinion, is the Harvey depriming tool. No, it's not the cheapest thing out there - but it is high quality, American made, and a life-time tool.
I like the fact you can deprime anywhere and doesn't make a mess on press...btw I use the smaller pin (.059") for depriming everything and have not had any trouble...
