Removing the knurled jam nut and decaping rod won't let the adjustment screw bottom out.
Stack 2 bushings or just let knurled jam nut float on top of bushing.

the knurled jam nut has also been questioned in squareness compared to bushings.
with a little or no rattle...if the top plate the bushing is pushing against as the case is being inserted isn't square, runout may be induced. the second bushing is just a spacer...a square spacer.
