Daughter and new gun

This is my 13 year old and her first day on the bench with her new rifle. Studying wind, concentration...success. Her first group is the one she is pointing at, 5 rounds, 100 yards. Ross Sherman Superior Action LV 22PPC in a Lee Six/Chet Brown stock, Sinclair built. The gentleman pictured was a friend of Sherman's and bought the rifle and gave it to my daughter as a gift and a memorial to his late friend.

AWESOME, beautiful rifle and hats off to you for getting her going the right way!

I love it when the "kids" get into the gun scene.. AND it certainly looks like she is having a great time>>>It also helps to have an excellent piece of equipment, which she now has! Great job!

Yep, and so is her dominant eye!

I never told her they make lefty bolts, so she is fine with it!

Hope you're planning on framing that group and the pic of them both. Priceless.

Bolt is on the wrong side.

I shoot left-handed and my dominate eye is my left eye. I shoot what everyone would consider a "right-handed" rifle. I have done it for so long that if I even tried a left-handed rifle it would be very awkward!

Same here, but I finally decided to purchase some left handed bolt rifles. You'd get used to it in just a few minutes.

As for my left handed Remington 870, I'll admit, I was very used to looking into the receiver/chamber of a right handed pump shotgun. I sort of miss that with the left handed model.

A Lefty! Same here.

Here is the deal Ohio.. This is actual fact! The left side of your brain generally operates the right side of your body. The right side of your brain generally operates the left side of your body. So it stands to reason that ONLY left handed people are in their "right mind"!

Good looking Young Lady,
Good looking Rifle.
Excellent Group she shot there.
That will be a shot group to remember.
I'm also a lefty that shoots right handed Rifles, piece of cake.
Keep up the good shooting young Lady!
Looking forward to more pictures of those tight Groups.

It was a gift so it is cool. If you want to see a tantrum give a right handed person a left bolt. That reason alone is why all my loaner rifles are left bolt.

+1 for the whole deal!!!! Can't go wrong for starting em off like that!! Now I have a question ...in the last picture ..it that a shooting bench built onto your deck?? ???

The bench there is a 50 yard bench for rimfire swingers and yes, it is attached to the deck. Belongs to the gentleman who gave her the rifle. We shoot across the front lawn of the house to the same backer, but use a portable bench

Now that's just wrong people!

My son is a lefty and the rifles I had built for him are right handed (he shoots them right handed too). I was not trying to "turn" him into a righty, it's just what we had. He does very well shooting from either side. I, however, suck as a lefty, so it seems as he has had a better "education" than I had.

That is a fine rifle Snert, and I'm sure your daughter will enjoy it. I found I enjoy taking care of my children's guns as much as they like shooting them.

That reminds me, I need to tell my wife that my son needs a left handed rifle.......
