Custom rifle barrels from Remington

I texted the owner for more info. It was a chrome moly barrel and had a lot of writing on the side, more than a factory barrel. I can't remember the exact wording but it was labeled as a PRO something or another. The gun smith ordered it from Remington as a lower cost alternative to a custom match barrel. It came chambered and threaded I believe.

Triggers and barrels and a few auto rifle parts are usually items they DONT sell for obvious reasons

From a risk management perspective, I cannot imagine Remington would sell you a barrel with the idea you can screw this into your action and you are good to go.......

James your correct'' I asked JIM STEKL ABOUT this ALSO Mike Walker .
At the time Remington was using the button rifle process. They made their own button rifled, hand lapped barrels in the custom shop.

Just for interest..a guy named Ross Sherman from Dryden NY developed carbide buttons for rifling, Mike Walker and Hart were close to him and he helped both, often, with making the process of button rifling. He also made about 29 rifles, called Superiors. Ed Shilen apprenticed with him. So, Remington rifles may not have or may have had Harts on them at one time or another...but the closenes of those guys should be understood and realize that a lot of ideas were shared and developed together. Ross was a craftsman and genius.
