USPS strikes again with loss of Sako.

Why is it that the ATF will not investigate these stolen firearms. That is supposed to be one of their jobs, or is that the Deep State has infected the ATF that they are allowing these thefts to go uninvestigated so as to further the agenda of the gun grabbing anti 2A communist who are trying to destroy American’s Constitutional Rights. For proof, just look at Biden’s plans for AR15 and more then ten round magazine’s, and remember under Obama’s administration the failed “Fast and Furious” attempt to supposedly entrap Mexican drug gangs by selling them AR15s and M16s, but the real intent was to make American’s citizens ownership of AR15s look bad, and try to ban those rifles. POTUS Trump has two months to clean house of the DOJ, and those agencies under the DOJ’s umbrella.
Its not the job of the atf its a police matter. Atf investigates gun law crimes such as nfa items (if they go missing its the atf then), they investigate alcohol related crimes such as making liquor without a license (to get taxes) and tobacco related crimes (such as not paying taxes on tobacco). They also handle the federal firearms licensees and any crimes relating to firearms stolen from them. They investigate terrorism when it involves destructive devices or firearms as well. The millions of guns stolen every week is the least of their concern unless theyre involved in a terror related crime

Ever notice that they steal the obvious stuff that can be flipped easy?!?!? So i purchased a Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing differential. It is easily $1500++ for the application I purchased it for. The thing is you actual need to have skills and tools and knowledge to put it to use and the market it limited for it no matter the value. On the other hand a rifle even a cheap one has a ready market takes no real skill to be of value or use and becomes more valuable in the hands of those that could not otherwise purchase one legally! I purchase expensive vacuum tubes all the time and no one ever steals them in spite of the value but if I shipped something much cheaper but again easy to flip like a PS5 likely to get stolen! Same thing goes for air travel I can ship a high dollar vacuum tube in checked baggage and it will likely make it to my destination no problem but if I take a rifle it is 50/50 if it will make it to my final destination.

Guess I've been pretty lucky with the shippers and the ATF.

I've shipped literally dozens of pistols and rifles as a non-FFL over the years. Many of those $3,000+ firearms. I always package them VERY WELL with multiple layers of bubble wrap, packing peanuts and lots of heavy duty tape. It amazes me to see nicely packaged items relying on a single piece of tape to secure the box. Spend the extra 25 cents and wrap tape around the box on all sides. If possible I always prefer to double box. I mostly use FedEx, but sometimes USPS Priority Mail for a long gun.

In all these years I've never had a firearm lost or stolen and only had one stock slightly damaged. It was obviously handled very roughly, but if I could do it over again I would probably put more packing material on the ends since they are the most prone to damage.

I once received a "doctored" FFL with the address changed probably to the buyers address. I always confirm any FFL I receive using FFLeZCheck, as everyone should, so I knew it had been altered. I called and left a message for the local ATF office and they got back to me immediately and seemed very interested in pursuing the issue. I also notified the dealer who's FFL had been doctored.

I will recommend altering the name of the receiver if it's obviously a gun shop. I try to never include anything like "Firearms", "Gun Shop", etc in the address. I just change it to GS or FA instead. Also, all firearms should be shipped Insured with Adult Signature Required. Yes, as someone else mentioned, USPS "Registered" Mail is the way to go for any very high dollar item if you can legally ship the item via USPS(no handguns for non-FFL's). Registered items are tracked every step of the way and kept in a separate secured location(locked cage) at the sort facilities. Gold bars, coins, etc are shipped this way every day.

I won't say which carrier, but I've been so bored since covid I started working part-time for one of the major carriers. So, I've seen it all. Packages go through a lot during transit, sorting, loading and unloading. Spend the extra $10-$20 to double box and use multiple layers of packing materials and tape.
