Credit Card Breach

Last week, while viewing my bank accounts, I noticed a couple of charges that I did not make. A couple of minutes later, I received an email from my bank's fraud department asking if I had made purchases A & B.
Anyway, card was shut down and funds were replaced. Typical PITA.

Then today, I received a letter from GRAF & SONS acknowledging their site had been hacked and customer info had been stolen, including card numbers, CCV#, addresses, emails and home addresses.

I suggest all members, using this site, double check their credit & debit accounts. Sorry for the bad news, but better safe than sorry. Willie

I check all of my financial sites a couple times per day.

I did find a situation where someone in Vegas charged $100 to my card at a convenience store.

Don't ever let retailers "save" your credit card info. Just type it in each time. Some like to do it automatically. After you place and order, go to your "account" page and verify they didn't automatically saved it there.

Any time a card leaves your sight, it better be a CC, not a Debit card. This is a good rule of thumb. Always use gas pumps that are in line with the cashiers field of view. Most of the time when skimmers are placed they are place on the end pumps. Also bank ATM's at the banks are not immune. Always pull and wiggle the card reader. if it wiggles do not use it and report it to the bank... I hope this helps some one.

Another good reason to use only credit cards and not debit cards. My inlaws had their debit card info stolen. Took the bank almost a month return the cash to the account. With a credit card at least you arent out your personal funds.

It's a lot easier to dispute CC charges than it is debit card charges.

I don't have an ATM card and I always pay for my gas inside.

Used my CC to add minutes to my wife's cell phone. All went OK. Tried to use it "again" a few minutes later to add minutes to MY phone. Transaction was STOPPED and then my phone rang? It was the CC company and they questioned if it was "me" trying to use it again. I told them that in fact it WAS me. All ended well. Good job guys!!

Got a call the next day asking about a charge on another card. Come to find out someone was trying to use my CC # to buy PC gaming? That was STOPPED! ;)
I called the CC company and question about HOW they figured that out? Come to find out they (the hackers) figured out a # match BUT, couldn't figure out a PIN # on the back of the card PLUS, they were trying to use it to buy something that I've never bought before.
That CC has NEVER been out of my sight and only use BY ME to make online purchases. The "hackers" are out there.
Another pat on the back to the CC fraud dept. Good job guys!:D

I forgot to add: The CC Company canceled that card and issued me a new one. Got in a couple of days.:)
