Crazy world out there

Just buy some straight lead alloy from Roto-Metals or find some from another caster who’s willing to sell a bit, 15-20 pounds don’t cost that much and will make a substantial amount of round balls.

Stopped at Cabela on my way home from the range Friday morning. Not a pound of powder of any kind in stock. I asked the clerk if they moved it or something when I could not find any. He told me all of a sudden everybody took an interest in reloading and it all sold.

Will work for Varget may be appearing up on cardboard signs soon.

Sinkers at Walmart
Coming soon California will ban lead sinkers I'm sure[photo deleted]
There already was an Obama era ban on lead sinkers in federal waters. The subsequent administration's Interior Secretary reversed that ban. CA also had its own legislation to ban lead sinkers, but it was defeated. We're one election away from possibly having those revived.

Accordingly, I bought what is for me a lifetime supply of lead sinkers for texas rigs, etc. many years ago.

I had my knee operated on about 5-6 years ago and while I was recuperating, my opioid addled mind would not let me stop thinking about a shot shell reloader. I bought the single stage MEC and the lee buckshot mold, the loader is still in the box. I need to check and see if my hulls are still good, Florida and rust and all. Going to do a search on that dude from Old Towne.

My local mom and pop gun store only accepts appointments now. It's a small shop but has most of the things I need and will special order anything he doesn't have. He also meets any advertised price on guns. Told me the other day he can't keep up with the costumers needs right now. He does have a large stock of ammo though.

Hi Nick! If you don’t have a couple thousand rounds off 223....Buy it now!! Or reload those empties you have!

One of my buds works at a gunshop in upstate northeastern PA. Entire families from Philly are coming in and each one is buying either an AR or sidearm. Talked to another in southeastern PA and a guy came in, bought a shotgun, then asked if the guy behind the counter could load it for him. Yeah, it's crazy out there.

Bad, and about to get worse.

WG (wolf gold) is pretty much the gold standard of affordable brass cased 223. 5 months ago it was $263 a case (1000) delivered, as much as you wanted. today you can't find it anywhere. the last price i saw was $469 a case + ship. virtually every other brand of .223/5.56, 9mm is also gone, nationwide. the supply chain is empty. About a week ago, I was at scheels..noodling around at the gun counter. in the time that i was there, (20m) 6 different people showed up, bought guns and were told it would be 2 weeks for delivery because NICS was backed up that far. CCW holders were cash and carry. the selection of handguns was quite limited.

with Biden likely our Next Pres, I have no idea how long it will take to recover. years certainly...

you may find some old internet stuff but James fell to bad health unfortunately. Hell of a guy, knew full bore slugs and tri-ball loads better than anyone I’ve ever came across. Worked for Winchester back when they owned Olin and then worked for Fiochi in Italy, retired and started Dixie Slugs, home of the “Dixie Terminator” 73 cal. Full-bore heat treated hard cast slugs for the 12 gauge. And did Tri-Ball in 3” and 3 1/2” mag. Loadings for 12 Ga.

How many times are we going to go through this? Surely the horders still have plenty from last time. All this home defense. Very doubtful you will ever need it unless you go out hunting trouble.

I wonder just how much ammo they think they will shoot up before someone shoots them. I know i won't last long. Too old for all that running and hiding.
