Not even an empty space on shelves any more

I was in Memphis, Tn. yesterday and decided to stop by Bass Pro in the Pyramid to see if they had any reloading supplies in stock. They must have had a great sale on fishing tackle because there were as many customers as they had for their grand opening. I fought through the crowd just to find there was no powders or primers at all and very few projectiles stocked. There wasnt even a bare place on the shelves for powders and primers anymore. I caught an employee and ask if they had quit stocking these products and was told they would stock them if if they could get them. I thought this shortage thing was improving but it looks like it may never end. The only good news I can report is the ammo shelves appeared to be fairly well stocked.

Several of the bigger local gun shops have even taken the shelving out.
They used to have racks (as in 4 aisles) 2 high, of used rifles.
Now down to 1/2 an aisle, one row only. Or 1/16 of what they used to have.

One shop has good supply of Hornady & Berger bullets.

One has some powder.

No one has a primer!

I work at Cabelas.

When we get powder and primers they go behind the gun cases. They wont be on the shelves.

Now over the past 6 weeks we got about 10K of primers and about 12 Lbs of powder.

Primers were mostly large rifle and pistol primers, very few small rifle primers

It's not flowing into the store, but some days you will get lucky and be there at the right time.

After ammo shelves were taken out here, and everything put behind the counter, they are reappearing, and even growing at the local sporting goods stores.

I wondered if they were keeping them somewhere out of reach of sticky fingers so I ask and just got the "we would" answer. I will admit they were swamped and the guy I ask was out on the floor and may have been from a different department. It broke my heart to see the shelves that they used to display was being used for other items

It's the same around here - I quit trying - I got enough to get through this year then I'll just see what happens next year.

At my age it doesn't pay to plan too far ahead anyway. :( :(
I have slowed my shooting down considerably to conserve a bit. I'm set up on powder except for my 5.56. I have a good number of primers but not my 1st choice. Mostly different ones I've tested with different powders

Around here the big box store has the reloading shelves filled with those plastic 50 BMG ammo boxes. Oh, and rubber gloves.
It’s depressing.

The wife drug me into Walmart yesterday and as usual I walked through the sporting goods section. Only this time there were about (10) - 100 round boxes each of 20 & 12 gauge shot gun shells sitting there.
I only took one of each. I was pretty happy and surprised at them being available and at $29.44 for a box of 100 !! Just my lucky day.

I haven’t seen anything for reloading in the calibers I reload for at bass pro in Nashville for at least five years or more they’ve been going downhill for a long time

Bass Pro is the 2nd best place for me to get supplies around Memphis. There is a Sportsman Warehouse in South Haven MS. Just 10 miles south on I-55 that had the best stock of powders and primers and I wanted to check there but after beating that crowd I drove on back to Arkansas.

You didn't miss anything. Also, congrats on not getting carjacked. Did you get shot at on 240?
