When selling range pickup brass to a recycler does one have to remove the spent primers

I do not need to according to my recycler as the spent primers are made of similar metal as the case. However, if the primer has not been expended we need to remove it or drop in a gun and let her rip. Eye's and ear's recommended!

Locally, there's only one recycler that will accept spent cartridge brass. I think the others are worried about nothing. I wouldn't hold it in my hand but even live ammo, uncontained, is not very worrisome to me.
