Electric cars dont use any more copper than a gas powered one. Wind turbines use aluminum cables, solar panels dont use copper either so the green new deal isnt whats getting us. The US is losing our manufacturing capability is what the issue is

I recycle all the copper i can from wire harnesses and old car parts that has copper. Me and my grandpa scrap it. Its up in price. I do not scrap range brass though. That stuff i keep just in case. If i dont own that caliber then i give it to someone that does and will save it. Never know when they will cut down on making cases.

Not a great argument: Apparently electric cars have twice to three times the copper in them as conventional cars. It is still well under 100 pounds/each. There aren't enough of them for that to be the main cause of copper scarcity. Commodities are up in price due to supply and demand mainly. Supply has been down and costs higher since the mismanagement of Covid 19 locked people down and paid them to stay home. Then our (US) government paid out to keep those people home...more money after fewer goods equals inflation.

Most of our woes are due to bad policy...

Actually as reloaders we are the "good guys" re-using copper. They should be thanking us.

Im a proud owner of a new G2. Cant believe they stopped producing them. Mercury already has their electric motors and never had to stop their manufacturing

What size G2? Has it been to see your dealer lately, thay have critical software updates available for the larger 225hp and up models depending on the year.

can't tell you how many times i have had to repair wiring harnesses, spark plug wires and both plastic and rubber hoses - including twice on gas lines - in my orv's and dedicated boondockers left open to the squirrels, gopher rats, chipmunks, and field mice.

you would think once they get a mouthful of gas from chewing on the lines they would get the hint...

i now buy peppermint oil by the sixpack.

Dealer should have installed any needed updates during the initial prep. Be sure to check your "born on" date on the serial number tag to make sure of the date it was built. No engines were produced after June 2020.

can't tell you how many times i have had to repair wiring harnesses, spark plug wires and both plastic and rubber hoses - including twice on gas lines - in my orv's and dedicated boondockers left open to the squirrels, gopher rats, chipmunks, and field mice.

I hate the ones that are under the intake. A 5 minute repair becomes 2 hours ... that's on top of the diag.

Only issue ive had was the goofy spark plug warranty with the pads falling off

It seems that this has happened before because about 10 or 15 years ago I bought some bullets at a gun show that a guy had made bullets using Lapua 22LR brass shells instead of copper jackets. I still have them and you can see the manufacture's head stamp on the case bottom.

Copper prices are getting ridiculous, I bought 20 feet of 6/4 wire yesterday and it was $134.00 for it. Whole rolls were over $800.00.

US has pretty much shut down mining domestically and is sourcing Chinese imports . With cost of fuel is driving EVERYTHING through the stratosphere . All because some mental midget WON'T relax regulations and sign some Federal leases and open REFINERIES !.
