Concessions youre making due to primer availability

Definitely shooting less.
I'd love to do more matches, but i find myself not wanting to shoot that much of my supplies.

It's bad enough that all the components are in short supply, but now Sierra is discontinuing the bullet i coyote hunt with, that has finally given me my first 0.2" group.

Hey everyone

I'm wondering what concessions you're making now that primers have been very hard to come by for a while now.

A few of mine are:

•wanted to use berger bullets, but am sticking with Hornady ELDs because I don't want to spend the primers to figure out a load with berger when I already have a load for the ELDs
•practicing with my 22lr and not using primers unless it's for competition

Curious if anyone else is doing anything similar
I am digging stuff out I told myself Id get around to " One of these Days" and making now one of those days!! I not a competitor so i dont need specific components, so Im putting components together that will work and some i may not have used before, to use this stuff up. Selling the safe queens and concentrating on shooting a fewer number of guns. Am even planning on getting back to shotgunning in a few months-- i have a few components for them.

Meh... I'm shooting less cause I don't have the time. Coincidence it is with this shortfall...

I'm putting off a couple of projects (got the important parts) cause I can't find powder or primers. One is using stuff I don't use with my other rifles, other is just due to lack of on hand stock to make it worthwhile. I'll burn it all up in load development.

I may only shoot 25,000 rounds this year lol....it'll be far less with anything that runs on large rifle primers however.

Different hobby but I switched from Winchester 209 to cheddite primers in my skeet loads... Like them so far I was able to pick up a sleeve (5000)... I started shooting skeet in February of 2019 hot and heavy but I did sit down and load a box of 9mm the other night just to stay fresh with my Dillon , it's been awhile... I haven't fired any rifle exept a few .223 to test fire a new rifle...

We just discussed this last night. Typically we do around 8 matches a year. Going to cut that in half. No more testing/fun shooting, just matches. 2 sighters moving forward.
