How do you know who is and who isn't a contributor? I've been hanging around here since early 2005. My donations total in the hundreds of dollars. Ain't diddle squat reflecting that on here. Gotten to the point I don't really care.

Personally, I would bring it to the attention of the forum boss. You should get credit for money that you send in.

When this site moved to new and improved host software that identifier disappeared for me. Other things, like my "I don't do PM's" won't go away. It's not my purview to unscrew this website without remuneration. I'm here as a user, not a systems engineer.

Doesn't really matter to me. My original comment was mostly a jab at dogdude who justifiably didn't care if I was a contributor or not when he stopped at my house to pick up powder he needed. He even offered me a tube of KG-2 (which I have since tried and it is spectacular). My only point was don't assume someone isn't a contributor based on the site's record keeping. I'm a big contributor to the Salvation Army and to the best of my knowledge they don't even know I exist. I don't have a need for public recognition. If my trader history got screwed up then I'd be upset.

...I don't think it really needs to be a rule, just like it would be nice if it was a rule that you had to be a site contributor to use the classifieds......... To me it is far more important that a member contribute if he/she is making money from the site...

If sellers should contribute, then so should buyers. Both are getting what they want from the classifieds.

I don't think it needs to be a dollar amount per transaction. I think the point that is trying to be made is that if you want to get the benefits of buying or selling and making money because the forum exists, then you should be a "site contributor". If you just want to read, gather info and hang out and you don't want to pony up a few dollars, so be it. At least the people that are making money should contribute.

A while back they even talked about giving a different color to members of the "century club".
