Folks,
Since I've added the data feed showing the 15 latest classified Adverts a few weeks ago, activity in our classifieds area has picked up significantly.
Right now we have two Categories:
A. Guns, Actions, Stocks, & Barrels
B. Tools, Dies, Optics & Misc.
Would it be helpful for Buyers and Sellers to create a third category? If so, what should the Category be?
PRO: This would let us isolate "Big-Ticket" items in the top category, and maybe move barrels and actions to a second line. Or, conceivably we could create a separate category for Reloading Gear.
CON: Adding another category means more clicking into sub-areas. Also, I don't want to stretch the page too much vertically. Right now, on a medium-sized monitor, you can see all the sub-Forums. A new category would be below the fold.
----
I've looked at software to make the classifieds a stand-alone area, like on Benchrest.com), and right now I haven't found any software solution that I really like that wouldn't cost me a ton of money to implement.
The Ads are free, photo hosting is free. The only real issue we have is that people are too lazy to delete "SOLD" items.
