christen arms

Lightweight hunter type gun, seems to be good. Had a new shooter get sold one with a Leopold scope by a shop saying this is what he needed to play the Longrange game.

I helped him with getting things set up and settings. First match he got partway thru and gave up. Too light and definitely not the right rig. Gun didn't shoot bad but definitely not accurate enough for most competition type shooting.

Two weeks later he had a 1710 Anschutz with an Arken and good ammo and is a tuff competitor. Might be good for a lightweight hunter but if you're looking for something more I'd keep looking.

Having had one that went back to the factory 3 times for ejection problems and still didn't get fixed correctly I would recommend ANYTHING ELSE! On various forums there are a ton of other shooters with the same experience. Some you tube videos also. The sent me a video of them testing the rifle after the third trip. They shot a total of two rounds and said it works. As comparison, my Bergara and my Anschutz work flawlessly.

I’ve yet to see a good shooting one. I have seen two bad shooting ones.
I sold mine.

I have a newer one in the camo stock. I guess I’m lucky. Mine shoots very well and functions flawlessly. It’s a fine Rifle for plinking around, hunting. It is super lightweight and nowhere near, like not even in the ballpark of a competition Rifle of any kind. I think the bad reputation that they have is something they will never come back from especially with the price tag on them. You can buy several Rifles for a few hundred bucks less money that are better.

Christensen ranking in quality control = Tied last with Rem 710 ; Ranking in Marketing = First

The Tikka T1x is a nice rifle. Accurate, decent trigger and easily made lighter and a smooth action. But I would plan on replacing the stock as its not much more than tuperware.

I believe the OP means Christensen Arms. One of the match directors at my local club has a rimfire model he uses in Precision rimfire matches. He has won Camp Perry prone matches with it. The bolt handle broke into two pieces and the company said they wouldn't replace under warranty, he had to buy one.

That tells me all I need to know about their company.

I bought a Ranger after a good review in American Rifleman. It shot some pretty good groups with SK Rifle Match, see below. I was using it in Factory Class in a BR-50 match and the left recess for the extractor blew out. Christenson replaced the barrel for free but the new one has never been quite as accurate as the first. It's more accurate than my Ruger American, but nowhere near the equal of my CZ 457 Varmint at about the same cost. It is a pleasant, fun gun to shoot, however.
