Chambering----lubing, pushing, cleaning

Dave, I used to get that a lot when I was pecking my chambers. Since going to through-the-barrel coolant, I haven't seen it once.

I know what you mean. I was fat dumb and happy until I wasn't. It explained some issues I had in the past. I was told that sometimes there will be a minute line in the grind on the face. It will pick up metal causing the chip weld. I've had the flute faces reground on one reamer but don't have enough use to say if it helped.

Dave that's the very reason, I stick a reamer in these cheaters for inspection, an if I see anything I take a oil stone an lightly clean it up, the old eyes aren't as good as they used to be I inspect the reamer every time I go to use one.

It comes in waves. I have some extensive testing to do for a customer. 5 crates of barrels waiting on a decision, some misc stuff that I should have already gotten done.

The chip welds are what I'm removing with the ceramic stone. A pretty minor chip can be felt with a fingernail. I have gotten to where I have to double up on the cheaters to really see what I'm doing as well. I need a lot more light than I used to also. WH
