Carbon ring removal my way

Right, wrong, or indifferent, this is what I came up with. It's fast, and doesn't seem to do any damage. I cut a neck off an un-sized case. Clean up the burrs, then solder a length of welding rod in the center. I drill a hole in a board to hold it straight. A dab of JB non- embedding past on the collar/neck, and spin it. It bottoms out in the chamber. Works great for me.

I was just thinking of making something for that task

I had a nasty one form in my 338 barrel I had to scrub out Saturday.

I didn’t clean the rifle immediately after shooting it previous trip and am not sure if that let it get fully set or if it’s been slowly forming but will keep a better eye on it now.

I need on of those for my revolver cylinder where it transitions into the throat. It is a PITA to get the last bit out of that spot.

Kinda pricey but wondered if anyone has tried this? If so, would you think it would ruin a match chamber for LR/MR F class or even rim fire? (Assuming proper use and a light touch)

Seems that if a shooter sends a lot rounds down that same chamber it might be worth the $$......

Every time i shoot I use a nylon brush one or two sizes bigger than the bore and rotate 30 times to scrub the carbon ring. I got sick of rotating the chamber rod by hand cuz I have carpel tunnel. I recently cut off a rod that is just a little longer than the stock and chuck it in a drill. I mark the drill and count 30 rotations. Also mark the depth on the rod you could easily force it way into the bore once its spinning. Staying on top of it helps. If that doesn't do it repeat with iosso.

If you slice some notches in the end..................
