Burst fire induction annealer

I recently received the AGS annealer from Serbia.

It's fairly simple, it's programable to a degree and works like a trooper. Still working on the time the brass is in the flame - just a tweek.

I'm using a 1lb propane tank now but will hook it up to a 20lb tank.

I like it and it's worth looking at.

Thanks. I'm looking mostly at the induction model.

So far I really like mine, it’s fast and seems fairly consistent. I have a Quick Anneal coming to compare it to, I will keep the one I like better.

Does anyone know when the next batch of shipments will arrive? I ordered in June and was looking at a shipment date of September. Guess I have a few hours left......

Website indicates back order shipments, late October to early November…

Has anybody worked with Alpha OCD 6 Dasher on one of these new Burstfire induction annealers? If so, what code did you settle on? Thanks in advance!!

I guess you could try Tempilaq. I haven't had much success with it. I adjust mine so the brass glows red for a second or so just before it drops into the catch pan.

I'm sure there are more scientific ways to do it, but that works for me.

Code? It just has a speed adjustment, you have to determine what you require for a setting…. Are you thinking the Aztec code on an AMP annealer? 2 different machines….

I've got the Amp Mark II w Aztec, so good there. I guess I meant the two digit speed number for the 6 Dasher. I've seen guys using 40 through 60.

I picked up one of these over the holidays. I finally got to trying it out today and it was very quick to setup. I did a quick ChatGPT looked up that told me to start at a setting of 60 for hornady 6.5 cm brass and it looked about perfect (visual, tempilaq us in its way).

With that said, I’m curious what settings others have been finding working with other cartridge/brass combos for starting points.

I got mine last month and have used it for my .308 and 6.5 PRC brass. For my .308 Lapua brass I had to use a setting of 34 to get the hardness I was after (I actually do measure the hardness, and to get it the neck has to turn red for ~ half a second). On my 6.5 PRC, the setting had to be at 30 and also had to raise it a little higher into the coil than the .308. Here's my fully process fully processed 6.5 PRC brass after that session ready for its 18th firing:

Funny posting those two cartridges. My next run was going to be 308 Lapua or 6.5 Saum ADG. Appreciate it

Be aware that my particular settings are due to the necks on both calibers having been tuned to .014" in thickness. Different thickness will certainly require a different amount of time.

Before I did those last cases, I did some experimenting on some various .308 range brass (Hornady, PPU and Federal) I picked up a couple days before. Each of them required a different setting to get to the same hardness. . . . like settings of 38, 36 and 34. I pretty much expected that since different brass usually has a little different make up in the brass alloy, and why the use of the AMP machine requires testing that destroys a case before moving forward. So, the neck thickness and alloy different makes quite a difference in the settings.
