Been to many tent sales. You can get some nice stuff cheap if you don't mind a dent or scratch or maybe making your stand for a item.

I'm thinking about checking it out for the first time, I have been to Grizzly a few times but not a tent sale...

You've earned my business!

Mine too! 500 155 Hybrids & a 'just in case' Bartlein blank was waiting for me Wednesday when I got home from the team tryouts at Winnequah (Lodi) the day before. Playing fair with customers is the best business model I know.

Shiraz seams strange we can't buy bullets in store in Springfield but still pay taxes here when ordered out of state .Still a great place to do business with .

Shiraz, I have one little request :) I would like to see a PayPal option, Not really a big fan of typing my card info on the net plus it's easier...

Most people know the history of Paypal and their thoughts about guns and gun owners. We accept Paypal with Grizzly, but would end up losing that option if we took Paypal for shooting supplies, ammo etc. After much IT work, we just started experimenting with Payment by Amazon in Grizzly and may transition that over. Then, customers could just check out through their Amazon account.

JG - So far no plans for showroom pickup of shooting supplies. Maybe in the future.

DW - Don't understand your statement. Anyone in the three states we have warehouses in, WA, PA, MO, has to pay State taxes when ordering from us. Perhaps you mean something else?

As far as a better search function for finding the bullet you want quickly, we have the caliber choices off to the left on the web page once you go to Berger or others. However, for Berger, because we sell so many, I'll work up an easier way so its in front of you and you can narrow it down to the caliber right away.

That really puts the screws to people that live in the states of your stores, now we have to pay shipping PLUS sales tax. I know some times I've had to order stuff from Grizzly that was not in stock at the pa store so it came from another state but I still have to pay shipping plus the Pa sales tax and it came from another state.
Sorry I guess because I'm getting screwed I feel that is one flaw that could be overcome by in store pickup just like you do with the Grizzly items. Check and see if Pa has it, if you do, go pick it up. If not in stock in Pa, decide how bad you want it or how long you can wait for it. I decide and go from there.

Other than this problem I like your store and products a lot and keep up the good work and your customer service is top notch also.

I know exactly what you saying and does make sense on the surface. However, there are logistical problems you are not aware of.

For example, the Bullets.com section in PA is in another warehouse - probably as far away as possible as you can get from the showroom, with no access from the outside. You probably know that we have very large warehouses and there are two at the PA location (450,000 sq. feet just in PA). For us to process a showroom pick-up order for bullets.com products, the item/s would still need to be packed and then delivered to the showroom. This is not practical nor economical for us to do at this time.

If we do it in the future, will have to tie in a minimum order of some sort. This is a really low margin business and every move has to be carefully calculated.

It's not the vendor's fault that they are forced to collect sales tax.

In Kalifornia, not only is sales tax 9% in some counties, but they also FORCE the local FFLs to collect sales tax on used firearms shipped in from private parties.

Back to taxes -- it's not Bullets.com's fault. As with 99% of the problems facing the USA, blame the government.

I only order boolits from them now. I like the CS I have recieved.

Unfortunately, they have been out of my bullets for a while, but at least they send you a postcard each month letting you know what's up.

Got home last night and about 9:30 I get an email that my bullets are in and shipped.
And I found a really good price on some Norma .223 brass. :D

Shiraz, one suggestion I have for the site is instead of bullets that are out of stock stating "ADD TO CART", it would be helpful if they instead stated "BACKORDER". Sometimes I don't want to back order an item but I never know if it is out of stock until I actually select the item to get to the next screen.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe - The "small" box that has the "Add to cart" bar beneath it takes you to the cart page, but if you click on the item above it, it takes you to the detail page for that item that tells you if it is in stock or not, before you add to cart.

Shiraz, what I'm saying is if I click on Berger bullets, then click on 108 gr on the right, it will filter it down to the Berger 108 bt bullets. The screen states add to cart for both 100 and 500 count even though they're both out of stock. It would save time knowing right away they're out of stock without having to click on them. Instead of saying add to cart, it would state backorder. Not a huge deal but would make things a little easier imo. See image.

I haven't seen an outfit that won't sell you back ordered items if your willing to wait..

Shiraz,
I agree with Joe. I look daily at your bullet selection, and it would be so much faster if you didn't have to click on anything to see if they were in stock. Just my 2cents.

Thank you very much for the effort you and your team put into Bullets.com.

I understand that they will let me backorder, but sometimes you don't want to.

I'm meeting with the IT team this morning about it. Just FYI- what may seem like a simple change actually can be complex with all the behind the scenes linking etc. The IT guys could give a better explanation, but we would all fall asleep :)

As far as shipping to NY and other states with "unusual" anti-gun laws, we sell many items to those states, but not certain items. Our compliance manager has been gathering all the various regulations within the states as there are counties you can ship ammo and components to, and some you cannot within the same state. Once we have all the correct, and latest, information we will be able to ship based on the local laws by Zip code. This is a complex project, but we are working on it.

Some customers call and say - "you can ship to my city". Unfortunately, we cannot take their word for it and cannot stop to check the laws of that city or county. It needs to be an automated process, and a correct one.

I'm very glad to here your attempting to work with us NY shooters..

I would like to add something since you will have the IT guys attention today, How about a watch list or notify me if something shows up? I like to get prompt emails of bullets that I am having a hard time finding.. Helps a lot, I could altogether leave the that other place :)

Already on the IT department's to-do list.

Okay - I just finished meeting with the IT guys about the In Stock information at the cart level and on the "thumbnail" description. This may be too much information, but I'll throw some of what goes on behind the scenes at you so you get a better understanding of what really is involved.

1) When you click on the "add to cart" button at the bottom of the thumbnail descriptions, like the one shown below

http://bullets.com/search?s=brand:berger

it adds to cart, but at that point you do not know if it is in stock. This will be remedied so that when you look at your cart, all items in your cart will show real time stock.

2) When you click on an item body, it takes you to a page that shows detailed information about that item as well as real time in-stock status. therefore, the best way to see if item is in stock, real time, is at this level.

http://www.bullets.com/products/-30-Cal-308-155-5-Grain-Match-Fullbore-Target-Bullets-Case-of-100/BL10114

3) Back to the thumbnail descriptions - we will add Stock status within the description (different color so it sticks out), but it will not be real time. To do this real time all at once on 15,000 + items can overload our system, which is not a small system. Plus the fact that at any given time, we have hundreds of people on our site, often over a thousand, doing searches of all kinds. Once you see within the thumbnail that the item you want is/was in stock at a certain time, then you can either add to cart and it will give you real time info at that point, or you can click on the body of the thumbnail and it will take you to the detailed description page which also is real time.

How many people ...........yawn...........did I lose during this post? :)
