Broken stock, Marlin 336A 35 Remington, looking for help.

I just bought a old Marlin 336A off gunbroker and it arrived with a broken buttstock. The seller is willing to refund but I’m trying to find a solution that will work for both us, it’s a neat rifle in pristine condition. If I google after market Marlin stocks I see quite a few sources but most of them are semi finished, the buyer must finish the inletting and the the wood finish. I’m trying to find a source where I can buy a matching buttstock and forend that is finished and ready to install and I don’t want to buy poor qaulity. I have a few levers but I’m no expert with them, any help would be appreciated, I’m sure a few of you know a way to make this work. If I can find a decent price I think the seller would refund the $$ amount it would take to buy new stocks. Any help would be appreciated!

The original stock could be fixed but it’s broken in a way that you would always be able to tell which would bug me.

I've never used them, but Boyd's Stocks list the 336. They appear to be offered in 'finished' form too for a relatively reasonable amount. Not sure how much tweaking is needed for a final fit.

Sorry for the late replay and thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve looked at Ebay, didn’t see anything at this time that would duplicate what’s on the rifle. Numrich shows one option that may work, I’ll call on Monday. Walt if you find something please PM me, I’m interested. SSL, I checked Boyd’s, nothing In stock but I’ll call them too on Monday.
If anybody else sees this and has a suggestion I‘m all ears.

Thanks

Getting anything from Marlin is out of the question from what I heard. I was in a small town gun shop on Friday and the proprietor said that the entire Marlin Company is sitting on 18 semi trailers at the Ruger plant in Arizona.

I replaced the stock and forearm on my 1974 Marlin in .35 Rem with ones from Boyds. They come finished. Not a perfect fit (a bit of a gap at the tang), but I didn't have to do any inletting with mine to get it to install.

Here are a couple of pics of what it looks like with the Boyds stock.

I just replaced the wood on the identical rifle. I bought a boyds laminate stock, and a set of hand carving tools. I used a dry erase marker to mark up the metal, then would slide into to wood (held in a padded jaw vise). Parts that needed removing were clearly marked, and carefully carved out. Took about 4 hours, but I am HAPPY!

That looks good!

Here’s some pictures of the stock as my FFL buddy opened the box. The rifle was poorly packaged and slid around in the box, I asked for it to be well packed but it didn’t happen. That’s unusual for me though, most of the firearms I’ve bought of gunbroker and other places have been well packaged, this is the second one that hasn’t been.

On a positive note I received this Model 71 the same day, it was packaged very well.
