Bonus Range Brass — Thank you!

The last time we were at the range, when we were done shooting someone came up to me and started talking with me about an upcoming PRS match.

We talked for about 5-10 minutes.

During that time my son had already swept up our entire area and was just sitting there waiting for me to pack up the rifles after they had cooled a bit.

When I was done talking I looked around and was very happy to see that my son didn’t even need a reminder to clean up. Proud dad moment

Well Ledd—— i wish that much brass showed up at range i go to. mabie i get 20 rounds of 223 once in awhile. Sometimes though something really good like 300 win mag is laying there. have got a bunch of 9. I even get some manbun brass now and then so i cant gripe i guess!!— Good for you.
Wish I could find some Manbun brass!…. I could be the new short range and long range champion of the world with one of them do all manbun guns!….

Gotta love good range brass left behind! I found a source for Lake City 223, 70 bucks per 1000 that’s been gone through, no smashed or obvious defects and they throw in some extras. I ordered enough to fill two five gallon buckets, tumbled it, sized it, swaged it and primed it all, ready to load when needed. Best deal I’ve found on good 223 brass.

I pick up my own brass - even my 22 brass. The 22 brass does in the brass bucket along with anything I pick up that I didn't shoot. I keep only my spent brass.

My son knows that we're not done at the range until we've swept up the place and leave it cleaner than we found it. He'll start sweeping before I've even started to pack other stuff up, or tear down targets.

As for taking found brass, my club recycles it and takes it in bulk to the scrap yard and gets the money. So I don't take range brass because it's like taking money from the club
there was a guy here that would pickup a certain brand of 22lr .he would then make 22 bullets from them

What’s the Holy Grail of Brass Rats?

The answer - 6mm PPC formed from Lapua 220 Russian. Retrieved almost 100 cases, out of the brass bin, after a BR match. Primer pockets pass with flying colors, as does neck wall thickness; therefore, no clue as to why they were discarded. But, THANK YOU!

Amen, to picking trash up - set the example.

Two pocket fulls of LC 223 and some nickel plated 223 yesterday at the local police range. Also 2 unfired 9mm laying there that goes in my crap hits the fan pile.

Pick up any range brass, got tons of 223, other calibers.
I fill a 5 gal bucket every 6mos, take it to recyclers and get around $90 per bucket.

Picked up another 233 pieces of 5.56 brass at the range this weekend. Got it all shined up and ready for storage.

Grand tally on 5.56 ground picked brass is now 1042 pieces. All from the same range. :)
