Betcha never dun that.. Dumass move.

Just happened 2 days ago. Cleaning rifle barrel first thing in the morning grabbed a patch for the rod, goes thru bore guide a little harder than normal, goes in barrel substantially harder, a little farther down stops, get rubber mallet and tap, jag comes out with no patch???? Now I can't pull the rod back out. Getting ready to call the my smith when I decide to stand the rifle on the butt and get an eye dropper and put some Hobo oil down the barrel. Let stand for a while then get a pistol rod and attach to the rifle rod. With the help of the oil I was able to get the rifle rod back past the spot the patch came off. Have shot it yet so don't know if I did any damage, at least it is an older barrel.
Moral of story, finish coffee before starting any projects and pay more attention to patch sizes.
