I've not forgot the priming function completely but I do have brain farts on occasion (aka overlooking one case).

I hate to even post this but it is so stupid of me that I'll take my licks. I was re-sizing some LC 223 brass tonight. First three seemed awful hard to get the expander ball in.. But by damn I did it. Got suspicious and checked it out. I had 204 brass.. A few days ago I was reloading some more 223 and needed a plastic bullet box to put em in. So I dumped out a box of spent 204 into a plastic bowl.. For some reason tonight I thought I had put a buncha LC brass in there.. Turns out I was wrong.. Looks like you can make 223 brass outa 204 with enough trimming.

I've not only done that- .204s into .223s, but I seated some bullets after I did. Screwups come in multiples.

Worse yet loading 223 on my Dillon and forget a primer or two. Makes a mess. I have even put some in the

No it was not caught on video. It was in 1988 at Ft Hauchuca AZ. I was an MP there and we had a call for a bear in the picnic area. I got there and it had no clue I was there. It was eating out of the dumpster and I snuck up behind it. I was 5 feet a way when it jumped into the dumpster ruining my plan. There is more to this but I won’t go into it because there is only so much stupidity i will divulge. Another MP avrived to watch most of this. He was there for the dumber part.

Yeah back in the days of young n dumb.. "What could go wrong?"

I know of a guy (cough...cough) who did that. Cleaned up the powder and dumped it back in...with the gate still open.

I did that more than once. Now mine has a BIG tag on it says Close the drain!! Still

I use to take the bolts out of the guns while in the safe. I don't do THAT anymore.

Have any of you been fishing in a gator infested lake(Gatoon lake in Panama/Caimen technically not gators) get done and have the local Kuna Indian fillet your fish. He then throws the carcass off the dock and into the water. While watching him you decide to dive off the dock and swim out a ways. Then while enjoying life notice an otter swim pass by you like he has a better place to be and dart up under the dock. It is at that moment you remember there is a 12 footer that cleans up those scraps every day. At that point I imitate Mark Spitz and swim back to the dock.

On the bear story... I was a few feet from the dumpster and there little bear poke his noggin out and we looked at each other. I turned to look at the other MP(Ken Cotes-who was remaining safely in his vehicle.) the bear darted to a near by tree and climbed to about shoulder height and stopped. I then walked slowly to him. Again I don’t have much fear in me because that would require a modicum of intelligence. I then stick my hand out to pet said bear. As my hand nears the bear the other MP lets out a roar on his PA system and I glance his way and the bear being the skater one of us chooses that moment to scamper up the tree.

Just FYI I used to scuba dive too. Lol

As long as we’re talking bears, when I was a young’un on my first hunting trip to a friends hunting camp, I was explained that the bathroom was down about 30 yards from the camp...an outhouse. After exploring said outhouse with an Uncle, he said when you need to go, bring a rifle with ya.

The reason for that came a few days later, when the owner of the camp, a grandfather type, went down to the outhouse, shortly after we could here him yelling out. Sure enough a bear had him locked in the outhouse and no, he didn’t bring a rifle with him. We yelled from the camp and the bear took off. That story gets told over and over and is one for the ages at our camp.

I managed to charge an entire tray of unprimed brass. I only found out while seating the 3rd bullet, wondering when I spilled powder in the tray. And on the press. And table.

I also turned a piece of 6BR brass halfway into a 30BR by grabbing the wrong die box (308 rather than 6BR.) 308 expanders don't like 6mm cases.

Where I work we have a saying......."it's not a mistake if you catch it. it's a learning experience." Good post to remind everybody to always double check everything.

Done that more than once. Duh
